The killer in me is the killer in you -- Spring 2005

Finally they were there!  I squeezed my Mum's hand to let her know that I was going over to Abel and Elliot.  I went over to them and knew that Abel would know what to say to make me feel better.

I took both of his hands in mine and squeezed them as reassuringly as possible. I knew what he was going through, when Lincoln and I lost Austin a few years ago, I wasn't sure how I was going to keep going. Maybe that's why Lincoln insisted we fostered and adopted Abel and Elliot, he knew I needed something. "You know I wouldn't be anywhere else right now." I assured him. "You were there for me, and I'm going to be here for you." I turned when I heard other people arrive and gave a small smile to Austin and Fiona. I step to the side, standing beside my brother to allow him to greet his other guests.

I squeezed Elliot had reassuringly as we made our way to see Ian. "I'll be okay," I tried to assure her. Ian was by us a moment later and a gave him a sad smile. "Hey Ian, how are you holding up?" I hated asking the question since I was sure he had been asked countless times since his twins death, but it was the only thing I could think to ask.

I went over to Juniper when she left Draco's side.  I knew how hard it had been for her and Lincoln when they lost little Austin.  I could not believe what this did to them.  It had to bring back memories in addition to having lost their niece.  I gave her a hug.  "June... are you handling everything okay?" I asked her, knowing that was a question people would be asking me a lot today.  I just... it would be nice to attempt to worry about someone else rather than myself, though naturally my boys were at the forefront of my mind.

I smiled a tight, painful smile to my sister and nodded.  I was there for her when they lost little Austin six years ago.  I watched her leave and went to put my attention to the others who were there -- Lincoln, Austin, Fiona.  I could hear movement coming from out in the hall - more people coming to share their support.  I thanked them all as they walked in for being there.  My voice sounding hollow.  I was not sure if I could continue this.  I already had it in my mind that this was not a funeral.  It was a revolution once the tears were gone and the rage replaced them.  I would not let Keegan death be in vain.

"I am so sorry, Draco," I said to him, squeezing his shoulder with my hand.  Reed was making it rather difficult for me to give him any proper sort of remorseful, comforting hug of any kind.  I left his side and went over more to Lincoln.  "How do you think he's holding up?"  Draco looked like a stone.  It was hard to judge.

I just stayed quiet, watching everyone come into the room.  I saw the Crabbes come in -- we got to play with them if we were over at Aunt Pansys and Uncle Draco's while they were there.  Then I saw Grandfather and Grandmother walk in.  I still was not sure what went on with them, but I knew Mum and Dad had issues.  What was going to happen now?

I hugged Pansy back. "Shouldn't I be asking you that question?" I asked, attempting to lighten the mood a bit. Of course this was bringing back memories of Austin. He had only been born for a few hours before he passed away in my arms, after I only carried him for five and a half months. When I saw Draco the next day to make sure he was okay after Father visited him, he had no memory I had been pregnant to begin with. Father and Aunt Bellatrix killed my baby and now, we were saying goodbye to my niece.

I was about to answer Pansy when I saw Mother and Father walk in. I tensed, my eyes widened and my face paled. I immediately looked for Abel and Elliot, standing by Ian on the other side of the room. Good, I would just have to make sure they stayed there. I turned back to Pansy quickly. "Sorry Pansy, I have to go deal with this. Why don't you make sure the kids are okay?" I didn't wait for a response before I all but ran over to Lincoln. "Don't worry about me, go see Abel and Elliot." I told him quickly, knowing he would know what I was talking about after he would see me go to Mother and Father. I turned to Austin. "Hi Austin, hi Reed. Austin, why don't you take Reed and see Abel, Elliot and Ian with Lincoln and Pansy?" I didn't wait for a response from either before I left and made my way to Draco's side. He didn't need to deal with this today. I put myself in between our patents and my twin. "What are you doing here?" I asked, making my voice as dark as I could manage.

I ignored my daughter and simply walked around her.  I went to Draco.  "Son, I am so sorry," I said to him silkily, putting a hand on his shoulder.  I could hear Juniper behind me, but I cared not.

I looked over when I saw Mum coming towards us kids with Aunt Fiona and Reed when I saw Grandfather and Grandmother.  I smiled slightly and went over to them, quickly hugging Grandfather.  He and I had a secret.  It was nice to know that he was there for me now.  "Hello, Grandfather!" I said, glad that he was there.  He would help make sure I did not say anything.  I did not understand why everyone around us was tense, though.

My eyes widened when I saw Ian come over and hug Father. I hated the fact he trusted him so much but I didn't want to ruin his perception of his grandfather, no matter how far off it was. He had just lost his twin. When they separated, I went over to Ian and knelt in front of him so I was at his level. I put my hand on his shoulders. "Ian, honey, why don't you be with your mum and cousins." I suggested gently. I just wanted to make sure he was okay and to get Father out of here as quickly as possible. I tured back to Father and fixed him with a hard gaze, standing in between him and Ian. "Draco doesn't need this right now." I informed.

I watch Ian go towards the door and saw Grandmother and Grandfather had come in. I took hold of Elliot's hand to make sure she stayed with me. I knew mum wouldn't want want us anywhere near our Grandparents. I didn't know the whole story, but I wasn't about to question it, mum and dad seemed too tense whenever it was brought up. I watched mum talk to Ian before turning back to Grandfather. I hoped everything was okay. I didn't want anyone to be anymore upset then they already were today.

I went to grab Ian, but he went straight for Lucius.  They had an odd connection that I kenw angered Draco, but I still thought that there needed to be a relationship.  I sighed, crossing my arms and watching the group dynamics.  Bless Juniper, but there was no scene being made yet besides her trying to prevent one.  Sometimes I felt that was the way it went with the twins and their parents.  They just needed to calm down a bit and things migh tnot escalate.  i stayed back with Fiona and the other kids, watching others coming in behind Lucius and Narcissa -- Millie and Vince being one of them with their son, Vinny.

I put a hand on Juniper's shoulder along with my son's.  I looked at my father, knowing there were some things that I wanted to say.  "Please, leave us alone.  I want to talk to Father on my own," I said to all of the guys and Juniper standing around us.  I did not wait for an answer from any of them, instead, I let go of Ian and Juniper.  I started to walk away and I could hear Father following behind me.  There was never any hesitation in him.  Once we were far enough away from everyone, I turned around and stared at him.

I still did not think that anything added up with what had happened, but there was no proof.  But I wanted him to know what would happen if I found out at all that he had anything to do with this.  Keeping my voice in a deadly calm, I spoke to him:  "If you had anything to do with this, I will tear away everything that you hold precious in your life.  Your money.  Mother.  Dorian.  Everything.  I swear to you that if you took my daughter away from me, you will be left with nothing.  Nothing.  Unless you tell me now, everything that had happened that day.  I might not go that far, but I swear to you... if I find out later, I will come after everything you love without mercy."  I did not even wait for Father to respond and I walked away.  I knew he would stick with his story, so why did I even give him a chance?  I looked at Juniper and nodded slightly at her to let her know it was alright.  I was shaking with anger and despair.  I was so... lost.
