I knew that there was something about you....how can I help? ---December 1975

I watched her move her wand and then I nodded slowly.  "Here... perhaps try a little bit less flourish," I said, putting a hand right above hers with a little bit of hesitancy.  I showed her how I always moved my wand in class, which was a little bit less of a swish than what she was doing.

I nodded as he spoke and showed me the way he does the technique. " Alright, I think I'll try again...." I said as I looked around the room for a lonely subject. Rather than attempting on an animal again. I would grab a candle stick. I brought it over to the table in front of James Remus and I as I sat in front of it and took a breath. I did the motions, less flourish and it almost completely worked. I turned the candle stick into a goblet. It just had the candlestick bottom to it. I looked up to the two and I smiled, " Thanks." I said as I smiled to them both.

I smiled at her.  "Not a problem," I assured her.  "I'm just glad that you let me help."  Okay, was that being way too honest about that?  I leaned back in the chair and looked around.  "Hmm... we should figure out something to do for the next few days," I said, giving Moony a pointed look.  I knew planning our little rendezvous outside the castle always helped him deal with what he felt during the days of the full moons.

I watched the two of them with raised eyebrows and a bemused smile on my face.  When james brought that up, I shook my head.  "I think we should focus on our studies," I poitned out to him.

He was being strange. That was weird, I returned the smile not really sure what was up with him as Sirius was in the back just quietly watching. That was even more strange. I shook it off as I nodded, " Why wouldn't I let you help?" I asked him as I waited for the response as Remus seemed to want to continue talking about studies.

I could not help but laugh at Lily's response.  "Because I'm an arse most the time," I pointed out simply, being completely honest.  "Which, mind you, hasnt' really changed... but I figured I coudl be nice every now and again."  I looked over at Moony and rolled my eyes.  "Aw, Remus... you need to give yourself a break sometimes, though.  Too much studying is not good for you."

Of course that would be James' take on things.  I snorted slightly when James called himself an arse, which I immediately tried to stifle into a cough.  "No, James... studying too much is not a bad thing.  And if you three did more of your work, I wouldn't have to study nearly as hard," I added, giving him a pointed look,.

I laughed when Remus had a cough about James calling himself an arse. " Studying is always good..." I said with smirk. I couldn't believe I was sitting here with them while they were just talking. It was definitely strange. I looked over to Black. " You okay?"

I smirked.  "He's just amazed that we're having a decent conversation, Evans," I said, laughing slightly, putting my feet up on the table in frotn of us, getting myself more comfortable.  "You can at least sit down, mate, it won't ruin anything."

"I think we're all rather surprised... you two included," I pointed out to Lily and James both.  I reached into my bag and pulled out one of my books, opening it to where I had it marked that I left off.  Reading always soothed me -- let me escape from being what I was at this time of the month.

I nodded, " I suppose that makes sense. " I had to agree with them. " When you aren't being a bully we can have conversations...who knew?" I asked with a smile. Okay, maybe I should be nice. ' Sorry..." I muttered to him.

I moved over to the nearby chair as Prongs, Evans and Mooney were all talking. Which I couldn't believe mind you. I had to find words here, this was strange I was having a hard time finding words to speak. So until I find my voice I figured this would be the best bet.

I chuckled at Lily's response.  "Well, it's honesty... so I guess I can't get too pissed about it," I said with a shrug.  I looked over at Padfoot and grinned at him, letting him know how ecstatic I was about the fact that Evans and I were on speaking terms now.

I laughed, "Well I'm glad you agree with me." I pointed out, this was actually turning out to be a bit of a nice time. Which again is very strange, although Black not talking was weirding me out. Apart from the transfiguration that I just got....Remus and I are partners for the project McGonagall has us doing."

I could see the wheels turning in James' mind.  "Who are you paired with?  Surely she did not let you be with Sirius," I said, thinking that would be mental on her part.
