I nodded slowly understanding, " It's what they wanted for you... " I said, " It can be hard knowing when you're stuck trying to do something different."

"Anyway," Betta said, managing a smile. "I'm happy for you and James. Sorry you had to put up with Mr. Git just now; it wasn't called for. Perhaps I can ask Sirius to have a bit of a chat with him. I've heard that Sirius doesn't take too kindly to death threats."

I smiled, " Thanks Betta. And yeah he doesn't take to kindly to death threats especially from him." I said with a bit of a laugh. " I'm sure he'd help when needed." I said knowing all of them would lend a hand in one way or another.

"Excellent." Betta replied, giving Lily a quick hug before remembering something. "I just remembered someone else who more than likely might have the mark. Lily, be careful...it's Peter Pettigrew. He's been hanging around the students who do have the Dark Mark whenever he can. He's not what he appears to be. If I'm wrong and it turns out he's not marked, I'll gladly apologize. But if I'm right and he either is marked or is planning to get marked, then you and the others need to be extremely alert when you're around him."

I nodded slowly, " I will not know how to gather that info. " I said biting my lip, " Gathering information...to tell the guys to actually have some proof. "

"I'll keep my eyes and ears open as well...of course, I could always Imperio Pettigrew--kidding! I'm kidding! The last thing I want to do is end up in Azkaban." Betta replied, then sighed. "But it's so tempting."

I smiled, " That's true....can be tempting.." I said as I joked. Looking to her I grinned, " Well, I just want to know why if this was such a big issue why didn't I get told before now?" I asked her. " I mean, and why didn't you tell him how you feel before now?" I asked with a smirk.

"I didn't tell you because I wanted to be sure of who was marked." Betta replied. "As for Severus...I don't know. I always make an idiot of myself when it comes to the whole guy thing, as you just witnessed. My parents think they have the solution to that, though. They're going to introduce me to a nice young man from Durmstrang over the holiday break. His name is Dmitri Kuranov, and his family is nicely in step with...I mean, they..." She sighed heavily again. "They hate Muggles and so does he. Rumor has it that all of them are Death Eaters as well. I'm so sick of Death Eaters. Isn't there enough evil in the world without them around to stir it up even more?"

I nodded, " Yeah, there is something we should do.... talk to Professor Dumbledore...to ensure your safety. It may help Betta. Telling this...may cause a lot of trouble and I'm not going to let anything happen." I said with a smile. I started walking towards his office, turning back; " You coming?"

"Yeah! Right behind you." Betta replied, hurrying to catch up with Lily. She walked in silence for a moment before speaking again. "I think it's great that your family is so supportive of you being a witch and all. A lot of families would be freaked out, especially if one or both parents are Muggles."

I nodded, " Oh yeah...well my parents are...my sister and her pig fiance are a different story...." I said with a shudder. " They call James and I freaks.... even in the muggle world for something they don't understand it freaks them out so they do what they think is the quoted right thing to do by staying away." I explained, " That doesn't mean I haven't threatened to help her match him..by turning her into a pig.." I laughed.

Betta laughed. "Yeah, I think I overheard you talking about your sister one time. Her fiance sounds like he's a piece of work." she commented, as they made their way inside the castle. "What's his name again? Vernon?"
