Lips of an angel -- Winter 2017 (DONE)

I dropped my black pants to the ground since all classes were over for the day.  I grabbed a pair of sweats and stepped into them.  The band of my boxers showed, but I did not bother tightening the drawstring.  It did not bother me.  I looked at Ren.  "You think I'm surly?" I asked, eyeing my cousin as I dug around for a particular t-shirt of mine.  One that Mum had given me for my birthday before she passed.

I rolled my eyes and found the sky-blue shirt that I knew he was looking for.  "Here," I said, holding it out.  I hoped that he would start talking a little bit.

I grabbed the shirt and threw it over my head.  I pulled it down and walked over to sit on the bed.  "Ren... I just miss her," I said quietly, picking at my nails to avoid looking at Serenity.  I was a horrible son to her.  With Mum's death, I did change into a much better son to Dad.  There was at least one good thing to come from everything that happened.

I put a hand on RJ's shoulder.  "It's okay to miss her, Ry," I said gently.  "But there's no reason to revert back to what you became last year.  Yes, I will be talking to the other two about this.  It's time to just... move on, but not to forget."  I knew he would probably get angry with me for saying that, but it was true.  There was no point in being surly or grumpy.  "Don''t you think Aunt Addie would want you to remember her for the good things and not the sadness of her passing?" I poitned out to him.  I had to refrain from saying "Or her affair" just because I knew that would not do well to mention that, either.

I laughed sadly and shook my head, stanidng up and staying by one of the posts of the bed, a hand resting on the wood.  "That's the thing, Ren, that no one gets," I said, turning to face my cousin.  "I'm not angry at anyone but myself.  I don't mean to take it out on everyone else.  But I don't have very many happy memories with her or dad when I was younger.  I was the problem child, remember?"

I could not help but smirk.  I wanted to brighten Ryan's mood.  "Was?" I teased, knowing that he would give in to a small smile at least.  I barely got one.  "But doesn't that make those few happy memories even more precious?" I knew I was not great to be giving him advice.  How did I know?  But that seemed right in my opinion.  Perhaps Ryan would think the same way.

I rolled my eyes at Serenity with only a slight smile on my lips.  My cousin was probably correct, I just was nt sure if I wanted to agree with her.  I ran a hand through my hair.  "I don't know.  Can you just let me handle all of htis my own way?" I asked.  Perhaps I would write to Uncle Will or Aunt Emelyn... I had no clue what I was going to really do.  I just wanted to be by myself at the moment.

I stood up and rolled my eyes.  "Fine, Ryan.  You might want ot apologize to Lauryn, though.  You got snippy with her," I added, looking at my cousin.  I knew Lauryn wanted to apologize to him, but I thought she was the one who deserved the apology.

I sighed as Serenity left the dorm room.  I would apologize to her... Lauryn did not deserve to get the brunt of my anger.  I stood there for a moment.  Ren was right.  I needed to cherish the happy memories -- no matter how few there were -- of my mum.  I was going to leave the dorm when the door opened again.  It was Lauryn.  I smiled at her and took hold of her hand to bring her to sit on my bed with me.  "Hey... I'm sorry about before.  I was a real jerk earlier," I said to her quietly.  I really did like her, so I did not want to hurt Lauryn.  I did enjoy flirting and whatnot with her, too.

When Ren came back down after talking with Ryan, she said I would be in the clear.  I came up with the intention of apologizing, not receiving one.  I squeezed hi hand.  "Ryan, you don't need to apoogize," I assured him.  I smiled at Ryan.  "I hadn't realized what time of year it was.... I had been stupid earlier.  Why don't we just say we're even and move past this?" I suggested.  There was no reason for us to dwell on it.

I smiled and leaned over, giving a gentle kiss on her cheek.  "I think that's a lovely idea," I said, putting my arm around her shoulder and pulling her into a sort of side hug.  I had never wanted to snap at her.  I had been thinking about making a move with her -- like my other ladies, of course -- but was nto entirely sure.  I knew Ren and Tori would kill me if I hurt her.  She did, however, let me give her that kiss on the cheek.  Perhaps Lauryn would be okay with me giving her more...

I was glad that Ryan agreed.  I felt my cheeks go a little pink when his lips brushed my cheek ever so lightly.  When was Ryan a gentleman?  I turned to face him, biting my lip slighlty as I did so.  I could nto help it, but when he pulled me into a half hug, I kissed him.  On the lips.  What was I doing?  This was Ryan.  he was a player... but, oh merlin, was he good...

I was just about to make my final move when Lauryn caught me off guard.  I moved my hand from her shoulder to the small of her back as I deepened the kiss with expertise.  We pulled away after a little while -- I knew better than to take it farther the first time Ikissed a girl -- and stared at each other.  "Well... I'm glad we cleared that up," I said with my usual smirk.

I could nto help but chuckle slightly.  "Yeah, I guess we did," I said lightly.  We sat there without saying anything.  Then, suddenly, we started kissing each othe rpassionately again.  Of course, this was Ryan's game and I knew that.  Ryan was the first boy I ever really snogged.  We got a copule of moments of peace when the door started to open.  I let go of him quickly and walked past who walked in -- keeping my red face down.  I made it back to the common room in one piece.  I sat down by Serenity and looked at her.  "Hey," I said.

I laughed at her.  "So... it went well?" I inquired, knowing that look.  "Did Lauryn just recieve her first kiss?"  With Ryan?  The manwhore of my cousin?  I remembered that feeling, though, no matter who it was she kissed for the first time.  It was amazing to feel like that...
