You're falling out of reach -- Spring/Summer 2000

I looked at Remus and, for once, I did not have hte answers.  "Moony... you do have time," I said, unsure what to say exactly.  "They love you enough to give you time and space that you need."

I sighe, running a hand through my shaggy hair.  "I hope you're right," I said.  I could not handle any pressure right now.  I did not remember a thing, really.  And... well, the things that I had a vague idea about, I did not like the half of it.  The other half though, the half that included my mates and dad, that was all good.

I hated seeing my best mate like this.  I sighed.  "I am right," I assured him simply.  "Just... trust me on that, okay??"

I looked over at James.  "I'm going to have to do a lot of that these days, aren't I?" I said, sighing.

I nodded at him.  "Yes, you will," I said to him honestly.  There was no reason for me to lie to him.  And, to be honest, if I was not that blunt, then he would lose his confidence and trust in me because he knew I was always blunt.

I was glad that James was completely honest with me.  "Thanks," I said to him, my word only slightly laced with sarcasm.  "I'm assuming i have my own home...?  I'll be going there, right?"

I could not believe what all Remus did not remember right now.  I ran a hand through my hair.  "Yeah," I said to him.  "You'll be able to go back there once you're in the clear here."  I just hoepd that he would at least let someone stay with him while he got his bearings.

I nodded.  "I just wish that I will get out of here quickly," I said to him.  I just did nto want to deal with all of hte stares and everything else.

I chuckled slightly.  "Just take it easy," I said to him.  "It'll all take time.  I know, it sucks.  It took time for me to adjust when I practically came back from the dead..."  I trailed off, knowing that he had no idea what had happened.  This was going to be rough.

I looked at James. " You what?" I asked, completely and utterly shocked.  "I need to be filled in on everything Prongs... I just need to be... please."

I chuckled slightly.  "You'll be filled in on everything in due time, mate," I said to him softly.  "We don't want to overwhelm you or antyhing."

I sighed.  "I realize that," I assured him.  "I just want to get out of here.  I want to go home..."  Then a thought occurred to me.  "Is my mum still okay?"  If I lost my dad... waht about mum?  Would I be able to handle any of that?  Did I lose her a long time ago?  Why did I want just James, Sirius, or my dad?  Everything was so fuzzy and thinking too much about everything made my head hurt.

I hesitated.  What was I going to tell him about that when I did not know the full story that well?  "Erm... she's still living," I said to him slowly.  "But you don't have a good relationship with her... I'm not entirely sure why.  I know that you were very secretive about her."

I stared at James, not entirely sure what had happened between me and my mother.  "Oh... that might explain why I can't really remember her," I said to him quietly.  "I can remember you, Sirius... my dad... Peter... but not really at the same time."

I nodded at him.  I could tell hiim what I knew of his mother, but that relationship was so complicated, it would be best if we took that road slowly.  "It's okay,"I said to him.  "It will all come back to you, Im' sure."
