Of course Lenni would be this strong.  I shook my head and kissed her forehead.  "Honey, let's get youto your room... I'll stay with you and I'm going to be awake the entire time.  I won't let nything happen," I promised.  I hoped that would be good enough for her... I felt horrible for not being able to protect her in the first place.

I smiled, " Sounds good." I said as I put my hands up in the air. " You win." I laughed and cringed at the same time. " Sounds wonderful." I said to George. " I know."

I was grateful that she conceded to us.  "Here, let me help, babe," I said, knowing that she needed help to get back to her room.  I just wanted her in my arms.

I let my body go limp in his arms as I couldn't actually continue to move my legs knowing George would simply scoop me up. " I'm sorry." I said to him quietly. Seeing the look in his eyes, is something I will never forget and hope I never see it again. " I tried to not scream..." I said to him as we walked up the stairs.

I did not say anything to her until I got her situated in her bed.  "Babe, it's not your fault... I don't want to hear you apologizing for anything dealing with this, okay," I said to her, covering her up as I laid down next to her.

I nodded my head as I understood what he was saying. When he laid down next to me I wrapped my arm around him and I didn't want to let go. Nor, did I want him to let go of me ever. I just needed to be close. I ignored the pain I was feeling and just felt him hold onto me. The warmth from him to me. It was so soothing. Not quite enough for me to fall asleep. " Thank you....so much." I said to him.

I kissed the top of her head and held Elena as tightly as I felt was appropriate with her injuries.  "I love you babe... I would not have done anything else but be here for you," I told her, thinking that it was ridiculous to think otherwise.

Smiling, " You know... you guys were quite the team. " I said as I tried to just talk. I didn't see myself being able to sleep. It tore me apart, slowly I sat up. " I really mean, thanks...I'm not good at words a lot of the time. I know that. It just is nice to know that you guys will be there for me no matter what." I said as I felt the tears welling up. " Can we talk or play a little game or something?" I suggested. I knew I couldn't sleep. I wasn't sure about George. Stopping, " It scared me...to know that it may have been the last time I was alive and it was seeing Death Eaters..." I said quietly.

I smiled at her and gave her a small kiss again.  "I know you're not great with words," I teased, glad that she was able to smile a little bit.  "We can do whatever you want, Lenni.  Talk or whatever..."   I brushed some hair out of her face.  "You don't need to worry about seeing the Death Eaters as your last view... there is no way I would let that happen>"

I grinned, " You know, you aren't supposed to agree with me. " I said with a smirk. " I laughed a little and cringed," Sounds good, cards and talking?" I asked him. " I know..." I said as I looked at him and smiled at the look in his eyes. " I know you wouldn't."

I could not believe that she was trying to laugh right now.  I smiled at her... she was so strong and tough.  I gave her a kiss on her forehead.  "That sounds lovely.  But I am going to put a stop to talking about what happened tonight.  We're going to try to talk about the silver lining of things... the good stuff, okay?"  I figured that would be one way to make things a little bit better for her.

I nodded, " Sounds good.....we're alive...." I said as I started out with the basic. It was important to try to not remember what happened. I thought I was going to die. " So, what game am I going to kick your butt playing?" I asked him as I was more comfortable. I know I am not going to be able to sleep but it was fun to just talk and play cards. Just something simple.

I shrugged.  "Well, what would you prefer?  I can't say that I have a lot of different card games up my sleeve," I said, trying to laugh a little bit.  This was just a little odd.  I wanted to try to keep my own mindoff of what happened along with Elena's.  This was just hard for me to do.

Sitting up slowly and crossing my legs, " How about a classic game of go fish?" I asked him with a grin. This is exactly what the doctor ordered. I loved it, made it so much more fun that way. Just being us and having a night in even though the circumstances to that made me shiver and I never wanted to go through with that ever again.

I laughed and shuffled the cards.  "that sounds good to me, babe," I said, dealing the hands.  I was glad that she was able to have a somewhat normal night after... I was not going to think about it.  I told her we would not... so I needed to stand by my word.
