" Alright, will be alert Severus." I wanted to know why he looked so concerned. " Are you alright??"

Severus closed his eyes, wishing she hadn't asked that, but trying to keep his composure. "I'm fine...really. Just have a lot of things on my mind, that's all." He stayed quiet for a moment, then looked at Lily, his eyes frantic. "Lily, watch out for Peter. Trust me on this one. He's not what he seems. For your sake and for the sake of the others, watch out for Peter! He's been asking me all about Dark curses and--" he stopped, then shook his head wildly. "He wants to know what I know."

i raised my eyebrows. " Peter Really?" I wasn't sure if this was true I mean Peter did not seem the type at all.

"At least tell me you'll be careful around him." Severus said, putting a hand on her shoulder. "I know, I know, I might seem like I'm going completely off my rocker--which I might be, who knows?--but Pettigrew has been asking me about the Dark Lord and everything associated with that. Lily, as a friend..." He stood up and started pacing up and down, running a hand through his hair. "Dumbledore needs to know...someone needs to know...more Muggles are going to die if someone doesn't act quickly..."

I nodded, " Okay, I understand." Biting my lip, he seemed really worried about it. " I'll keep an eye out for him." I said with a nod and a small smile as to confirm it. I stopped him making him look to me, " I promise."

A small smile pulled up the corners of his mouth. "Thanks, Lily." he replied, giving her a hug. He pulled back a moment later. "I've heard Betta reading letters from her parents." he added. "She cries every time, talks about not wanting to make the choice. Her mum and dad are after her...they must be Death Eaters and they're after her to join them. Merlin, to think that two of the Death Eaters who have killed Muggles might have been the parents of a friend of mine!"

I nodded, " Everyone is afraid Severus.....but it's that thing that we can't be. If she doesn't want to join she just has to fight. " Knowing she would have much support. " She wouldn't be alone."

"I know. I don't think she does, though. Her parents are very strict--if they knew she was friends with you, she'd probably have more people to answer to than just them. That's the scary part. Then that's not the worst part. Antonin Dolohov's been making all sorts of threats against her. He's telling her if she doesn't join up, then,,,well, imagine the worst thing that could happen to a woman and then magnify that by ten. I've had to physically pull this idiot away from her. It's awful down there in the House of Salazar Slytherin."

I was shocked, " Well if she needs help we can easily help her...and antonin Dolohov is one spell away from a complete madman. " I agreed. " If she needs help we can help her." I said confidently. I knew what was right and I stood for it and people knew that. James and I were very helpful with people we know. They needed to know how they can get out if they need to.

"Shell be happy to hear this." Severus replied. "Next time I see her, I'll tell her...or you can tell her...someone. I know Betta doesn't want to join the Death Eaters, but if her parents are as domineering as I think they might be, she's going to have a hard time getting out of it. Do you want to know what's really sick, though? Antonin has a habit of harassing first and second-year girls, mostly from Gryffindor--I don't know if you've seen it, but he has--but now he's starting in on Betts. Ugh, if I could only get him expelled..."

I nodded, " Well, she is not alone. She shouldn't feel like that and Dolohov is a pig....no I have not seen it but we will keep an eye on him more. " I told him, That's why so many girls were so scared of him. Ugh how thickheaded are we that we ddin't notice. " I'm not going to let him hurt anyone."

"Don't blame yourself, Lily. At least now you know. Maybe James could give him a good punch in the gut for me one day." Severus replied with a smile. He took in a deep breath. "It's such a pretty day today. I think this is the longest we've ever gone without rain."

I nodded, " Yeah at least we know now.....Thank you Severus." I didn't know what to do or say...how could I tell James about this without him just thinking Severus was doing it on purpose?

"Not a problem." Severus replied, frowning slightly just then. "I'm sorry I don't get along with James and the others. I know that must upset you." he finally said after a long moment.

I smiled," It does but it's not up to me who anyone gets along with. But if it means anything James has gotten better." I said looking to him. I knew it probably didn't but I just wanted him to know that.
