People throw rocks at the things that shine -- Summer 2003
Seth and I were walking home from the park that was not that far away from our house. We were ten and in a good neighborhood, Daddy trusted us to walk the few minutes to and from the playground and be there for a little while. I had my arms crossed as I walked, trying not to look upset. Seth kept talking on and on about wanting to see if we could go back since he was getting along with some kids there that were playing tag. He was not being teased or anything for having fallen off of the monkey bars. I was normally better at them, but I slipped. That boy was making so much fun of me for falling and crying like a girl because I hurt my wrist. I knew Daddy or Mummy could fix it easily with a spell or a potion, but I was just upset because it made me angry -- which made me cry more.
I looked over at Seth and sighed. "I don't want to see if we can go back today, Seth," I said to him. I knew my brohter would be mad at me because we either went together or not at all. one of Dad's rules to help make sure we were safe, I guess.

I looked over at Rosalynn in disbelief. "But it's really fun," I said to her simply. "Why don't you want to go back?" I wanted to go play with Tyler, Andrew, and Derek again. We were having a great time.

I looked out the window and still could not see the kids. They were supposed to be back by now. I checked the time and went to the front yard. I could hear them -- why were my kids always so loud? I chuckled at that thought, though. It meant that they were close. I could stop freaking out.

I sighed and shook my head. "I Just don't, okay?" I said. I did not want to have to explain myself -- Seth would not understand. He would think that I was being silly or something. Or he would suggest me just playing with him. I did not want the other boys thinking that I needed Seth to protect me, though. I was just as tough as any of them were -- tougher, even, I bet.

I looked over at Ros and recognized that look. I sighed. "Rosalynn, what happened at the park?" I asked her, slowing our walk slightly so we could talk a little bi tmore without Mumma Dora or Dad itnerrupting us.

I sighed. "I was getting teased, Seth," I said to him. "For falling off the monkey bars and hurting my wrist. It hurts so bad that I cried." I gently held out my hand so he could see the injury. I sniffled slightly. "And so I just don't want to go back, okay?"

I put my arm around my twin. "I'm sorry, Rosalynn. I'll go kick some butt if you want me to," I said to her, trying to lift her spirits.

I laughed and shook my head. "No, it's alright, Seth," I said to him. "I just want Dad or Mum to fix up my wrist... and then play in our backyard or something."

I nodded. "That sounds great," I said to her. "Besides, we always have more fun when it's just us anyways." There was no denying it -- me and Ros always had a better time together.

I was so glad that Seth was my twin. He understoo me quite well and was alwayst here for me. "You're right," I said to him, grinning. "I just need Dad or Mumma Dora to fix my wrist."

I nodded and led the way inside the house. "Mumsy? Dad?" I asked, having a nickname for Mumma Dora easily. I enjoyed calling her that. Either one of them would be able to help -- unless Mumsy was busy with Sidney...

I heard Seth calling otu for me or Dora and I went to them, a plate with a couple of sandwiches in my hands. "I made you two some lunch," I informed them. I could see a little bit of worry on their faces. "Waht's wrong, kiddos?" I asked the twins.

I grinned, enjoying that there was food. I was always hungry. "thanks, Dad," I said to him. Then my face fell. "Oh.... I got hurt and some boys made fun of me." My stomach rumbled and I would rather just eat than tell Dad the story. I was starving!

I nearly forgot that Sis had an injury because I went straight for the food Dad had made. I took a bite and let Rosalynn tell Dad. "I told her I could go kick butt," I said, then felt kind of bad for saying that. Dad did not want us to do anything violent too much or anything. But I had to protect Ros. "But she told me we should just come home...."

I was almost immediately upset by the fact that Rosalynn got injured. I looked at her wrist tenderly. "Here, love, let me fix this," I said, knowing that we were going to have to get that fixed up quickly. It did seem like just a sprain, though, nothing broken.
