Obsessed -- January 1975

I needed relief. It was so close to the full moon... and I was getting restless and irritated. What I needed was something to distract me -- to keep my mind off of my furry little problem. And there was James... walking towards me. Hallelujah. "Hey mate... let's take a walk or something," I said, giving him a look so he knew I needed to get away.

"Sure... but Remus, I'm scolding someone," I said, giving him a pointed look then looking behind me at a fuming Ember. "Em... run off. It doesn't matter what I was talking about... you already know my feelings about it."

I rolled my eyes. "James, you're not dad. Stop acting like him," I spat. Then I looked at Remus and grinned. "Hey... everything alright? You look terrible."

"James... give it a rest for a minute, please," I said exhaustedly. I had a headache and I was tired and I didn't care about their sibling issues right now. "And thanks, Ember, I'm aware of that." I didn't mean to snap at either of them... but like I said, I was irritated with everything... like I always got this time of hte month.

"Sorry, mate," I said, knowing how hard it was for him. "Let's get soem air... it might do you some good. It'll hopefully clear your head." I needed to help him; Ignore Ember... I could do that. Ignoring was the easy part. Helping Rems was a little harder.

I looked down at my feet and said, "I'm sorry... I didn't mean anything by it."

I sighed. "I'm sorry, guys... I'm just having a rough day," I said. "And that sounds fine James... hopefully it'll work." I started the way outside... I didn't like how I crushed Ember so easily. It was like she was just a fragile doll or something... and if she knew what I really was, she wouldn't want to be with me anyways.

I put my hand on Remus's shoulder. "No worries, mate," I said. "we'll get over it."

I just stayed silent. I was fuming because of what James said, but I wanted to know what was wrong with Remus, so I wasn't leaving unless Remus asked me to. I was sure that he'd like a little girl help anyways... even if it was just listening because we all know James doesnt' listen very well. not to me, not to anyone because he was a boy.

I felt even worse when Ember didn't say anything, but my head was throbbing and I really couldn't deal with her hurt feelings right now. I continued to go outside with both of them following me. "I'm just tired of it... I feel like skipping the rest of my classes -- which is totally not me. They'd understand, but I don't want to willingly do it... because I know you three won't be there if I'm not so I won't get any good notes."

"James will go to class and take good notes," I offered up my brother with a smug smile. "He wouldn't leave oneo f his best friends without soem sort of help. You do look like you need to skip class,Remus. So James would love to help in any way he can -- note taking and all."

I knew this was just a ruse to get alone with Remus. But the way that she said it, I'd look horrible if I didn't agree. I shot Ember a look that Remus hopefully didn't see and then looked at him. "Yeah, of course mate... if you want to skip, I can go instead... I mean, I was planning on skipping, but I don't mind going so you can relax and hopefully take care of your issues."

I almost chuckled at the thought of James goign to class and not me. "James... you don't need to, I'll be fine going." I closed my eyes as the pain punched it up a knotch. Oh well... nothing I wasn't used to.

I rolled my eyes. Why were guys so stupid? "Seriously? I think James can handle goign to class at least once this year. So just take him up on his offer, Remus. Then you can go lie down or soemthing."

She was so bossy. What the hell was her problem? Oh yeah, she was a Potter, that's right. "I've been to class plenty of times. So I don't want to hear it, Ember."
