Aftermath - February 1996

I moved to sit back down.  "Daddy... do you think that Boris is building a resistance to the potion?" I inquired, unable to hide my concern.  This was one of my biggest worries for my dad.

It was like she could read my mind.  I smiled slightly at the thought.  I didn't need her to worry so much, though.  But she did get that honestly from her father.  "Lucy, you don't need to worry so much," I answered, repeating what I had just thought.  I smiled at her.  I didn't want to lie to her, so that was what i hoped would suffice as an answer.  Hopefully Lucy wouldn't ask any othe rquesitons.

I did realize he didn't answer my question.  I sighed and decided not to push the matter.  "I'll try not to," I told him.  That was all I could do.  I'd always worry about Daddy.

I smiled at Lucy.  "I guess that'll suffice," I teased.  "I love you, honey... so please be careful out there."  I really didn't need to worry any extra about her than I already did.

I grinned.  "You know I love you, too," I said.  I gave him another hug and knew that I was dismissed.  I left and knew I'd be looking into what had happened to the potion more than I let on.  Naturally, I wouldn't go out to see if Daddy was in control or if Boris was free.  But that didnt' mean that I couldn't do anything about the people who did this... if that was even the fact of the matter.
