Boris -- February 1996

I woke up in the middle of the night and went down to the common room. I was going to go sneaking around or something.  I couldn't fall back to sleep no matter how hard I tried.  I've been trying for th epast hour or so to no avail.  I reached the bottom of hte staisr and saw someone by the fireplace.  I walked closer and saw that it was Lucy.  "Lucy?" I said quietly, reaching for her shoulder to see if she was awake and what she was doing in the ommon room.

I wasn't asleep, just wathing the fire, but Dean's voice still startled me. "Oh, hi Dean," I said, trunign to smile at him. I brought the too-big sweater of Dad's tighter around me and readjusted my position in the chair. It was a cold, wintery night with snow coming down thick outside.

"Mind if I join you?" I asked, indicating the chair next to her. When she nodded I sat down comfortably. We sat in silence until my curiosity got hte best of me. "What are you doing awake at 3am?" I questioned.

I shrugged. "It's a full moon," I informed him. Not that I was affected by it, it's just I always worried when it was icky outside. Esecially lately. I knew Dad had to be out there. I mean, when I couldn't sleep it did always happen during a full moon cycle... but who knew if it was just my worry or something else?

I waited for more but I guess she didn't need any more -- she was a Lupin after all. I supose that was all the explanation she needed.

I looked to Dean. "Why are you awake?" I asked him. It was 3am after all... I didn't expect anyone else to be up.

I shrugged. "I woke up randomly and the storm just kept me awake," I told her. I couldn't help but remember the days when she had a crush on me. I shook my head. In bed I had been thinking about talking with Jetty... and asking Addison to marry me.

That seemed legitimate. I looked into the dying fire and stayed quiet for a little bit. I had been thinking about Dad and what some people say about him. "Dean, can I ask you a favor?" I requested, turning my gaze towards him.

I nodded, looking at Lucy. "Sure, what's u?" I questioned, figuring it woudl be something simple.

"I think some Slytherins are going to try to get Dad kicked out of school," I said, starting from the beginning.

I shrugged it off. "So? They've been trying to do that for years," I explained. She's been here for almost as long as me... and she didn't know that?

I moved so I could look at Dean properl. "I know that," I said. "But they're going to try to steal the Wolfsbane, Dean. I know Dad has some and I also know Snape makes plenty for him... but we need to make sure it stays that way." He had to help. He had more connections that I did.

Okay... so not something simple. "Wait, waht? Do they realize what they'd be doing?" I asked, sitting upright and not slouching. THis was not going to end well for anyone.

"I don't know!" I replied, tears coming to my eyes. I trusted Dad and I trusted Boris... but still. No one knew for sure what would happen... not even Daddy!

I stood up and started pacing, running a hand through my hair. "Have you warned Remus?" I pressed.
