Aftermath - February 1996

I sat back down and sighed.  I wondered what he was going to say about me being an animagus.  I really didnt' want to be lectured.  I was at least relieved that he wasn't too angry about the other night.  So I kept my mouth shut and waited.  I didn't want to bait the ocnversation in a different direction of what he was thinking in case it was about something completely different.

I sat there looking at Dean.  "Why on earth would you want to be an animagus this young?" I questioned.  "I mean, it's not a bad thing by any means, but why so young?"  I figured there was no point in scolding him about the other night.  I wasn't going to dissuade the kids from doing anything anyways.

I shrugged.  "I was bored... so I fugred I'd get started on becoming one," I explained.  "I started back in second year... I succeeded by fourth year.. well, actually probably the end of third." I thought back and I couldn't believe I had done that.

My brows went up.  I couldn't believe he had accomplished it as early as his father.  "If you were bored... you could hav focused on getting better grades."  He wasn't bad in school, but he had the potential to be better.

I let out a laugh.  "Good one, Remus!" I said, still laughing.  I knew he was serious, and that was what made it so funny!  I shook my head.  "You should realize by now, I take after you guys."  I was definitely my father's son.  Even when I used to try to deny it.

I rolled my eyes, but he was right.  I tried not to chuckle... but to no avail.  I had to a little after all.  "Alright, it wasn't that funny," I said.  I was trying to be the responsible adult here.  Apparently I was not succeeding.

I grinned at him.  "It was and you know it," I teased.  I sighed and looked at him.  "Am I good to go?"  I was sure he had things to do... and I had things I wanted to plan.

I sighed.  These kids would never learn.  "We're good," I said with another sigh.  "If you see my daugther... she has been avoiding me since I barely told her I wanted to talk."  She was good about being able to do that.

Lucy hadn't seen her dad about this?  She was the one who told me he wanted to see us!  I shook my head.  "How could she do that?  She told me..."  I couldn't believe her.

I nodded.  "I don't know how she does it," I admitted.  I watched Dean leave and I sighed.  These kids were going to get me killed one day or something.

I had to hunt her down.  I couldn't believe her!  I saw her enjoying some pudding at Gryffindor table.  I walked up to her.  "You're unbelieveable," I said to her.

Damn, I was caught.  I looked up at Dean and smiled as innocently as I could.  "Can I help you?" I asked sweetly.

I rolled my eyes at her and made Lucy stand up.  "I am walking you to his office.  I can't believe you made me go talk to him when you haven't."  I was a little angry with her.

Dean was gripping my arm tightly.  "Hey... I thought it was funny.  You can let me go," I added, trying to pull my arm away to no avail.  He had a good grip on me.

I rolled my eyes.  Of course she'd think it was funny.  'LUcy... you're lucky I have a soft spot for you," I inforemd her, letting go.
