Somebody get me through this nightmare -- Summer 1969

I looked at Father.  "are you sure we won't?  It might be for the best after everything..." I said, trailing off as Mum came over to me and pulled me into a tight hug.

I pulled my son into a hug tightly.  "We can figure that out in due time, sweetie," I said to my son softly.  "We need to get some food in your system, though, Remus."

I nodded, agreeing with Hope.  "Ah, yes, let's have a spot of breakfast and then you can have a nap," I suggested to Remus.  I wanted to be able to speak with my wife privately and there was no better time than when Remus was asleep so he could not overhaer us.

I sighed.  "Alright," I said, knowing that I would not be able to fall asleep after what I remembered doing.

While Remus ate, John and I watched him closely.  When we finished breakfast, I got my son settled upstairs in his bedroom and closed the door.  I returned to the kitchen where John was washing dishes.  "John, what on earth happened/" I questioned quietly.

I looked at my wife and sighed, shaking my head.  "he got out last night," I said to her quietly.  "There was quite a lot of damage... to things and to people."

I had planned on listening to what my parents were saying, but I just laid on my bed and heard the screams from the night before when I got out.  I could almost smell all the blood again.  I had no idea if I had killed them or if I just harmed them... or worse, changed them.  I shuddered and stared at my ceiling because I was not going to be able to rest at all.

I gasped when John said he got out.  "John... what do we have to do?  It'd be a shame to have to move again," I said, looking around.  Remus seemed to like it there.

I sighed and shook my head.  "We can stay," I said to her gently.  "I've taken extra precautions already... hopefully it will be sufficient."

I sighed. "Oh, John, what are we going to do? Will he ever be able to go to school? He is already so lonely... I wish there was more that we could do for him," I said, glancing towards where Remus' room was to be sure that he was not coming out or anything. He did not need to hear us being so worried about him and what had happened.
