Honestly, do I really have to do this? -- 23 December 1993

we were all at Remus and Chloe's before Christmas while on holiday from school.  I was on a complete rant about Evan Potter.  everyone seemed fascinated by the fact that he was a Potter; I, however, could not stand the kid.  "He's eerily smart in Potions... but I have him in Herbology and you'd think the two go hand in hand!  But clearly they don't!  Why does Hufflepuff have to be in double Potions and double Herbology with Slytherins?" I ranted to no one in particular.

I looked at Nate.  "Have you ever tried to help him in Herbology?" I suggested to Nathaniel when I sat down with some tea.  "Nothing ever needs to go hand in hand."  I had to add that part.

I stared at Remus incredulously.  "Erm... why would I?" I questioned.  "He's a prat.  He's weird and a complete oddball."  What was my big brother thinking?  Why on earth wold I help Evan POtter?

I chuckled at Nathaniel.  "You know, some people would call you weird and a complete oddball," I pointed out to him, giving a pointed look at his bright purple hair.

I sighed and glared at Remus.  "Yeah, but I'm also a Hufflepuff.  I'm allowed to be weird and an oddball," I countered, trying to think of something better to use as an argument so I would nto have to deal with Evan Potter.

I laughed at Nathaniel.  "It matters not what House you are in as to whether you are allowed to be weird or an oddball," I pointed out to my younger brother.  "It would mean a lot to me if you would help Evan out and to try to befriend him."  I knew that saying it would mean a lot would get to Nate.  He really would do anything for the people he loved.

I groaned, hating the fact that Remus said it would mean a lot ot him.  "I don't know," I said, though I knew that REmus kenw that he practically won.  "I can be nice to him.  That's the best I can do.  I won't be best mates or anything, though.  I can't do that."

I chuckled, knowing that I would get Nate to do it.  "That's all I expect... you never know, you could make a good mate," I pointed out to him easily.
