Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light -- Spring 1995

I knew that was Lincoln's way of saying that it meant the world, but we were done talking about it.  "How are classes going?" I asked, lamely changing the subject for him.

I shrugged.  "They're fine," I answered.  "I mean... Charms is going far better than any other class because it's my best class."  I looked over to Dean.  "Are you actually doing your schoolwork?"  He had a bad habit of procrastinating.

Lincoln had a point; he was always good in Charms.  I was pretty sure his Charms skills were well beyond his years.  "Oh, yeah, totally," I said, dismissing that easily.  I was sure that he knew that I was not telling the truth really.

I rolled my eyes at Dean.  "I don't want you to come running to me to help you understand anything, Dean," I said to him stubbornly.  I knew that he would and he knew that no matter what I said, I would end up helping him.

I laughed at my mate.  "That never happens," I said to him, knowing that was definitely going to happen.  I always did if I needed help.
