Let me explain -- Winter 1994

When Jetty refused to meet with me during winter holiday, I finally convinced him to meet wiht me on their next hogsmeade visit.  I waited in our normal hiding place on the very outskirts of the village.  I stayed in my rat form until I saw and made sure that Jetty was there alone before showing myself.  "I'm glad you came," I said quickly, moving us both into the shadows to be on the safe side.  I hated being this much out in the open like this, but I needed to continue my relationship  wiht my son.

I did not say anything at first but just followed my dad into the shadows.  "What do you want?" I asked, feeling really hurt that Potter got him and I did not.  I wanted answers.

I did not like my son's tone.  "Jetty, just listen to me, please," I said, wanting to bring my son over to the darker side.  He was already having the first step -- being a Slytherin.  Now he just needed the push.

I stopped and looked at him.  "Why should I listen to you?  All you do is lie!" I said heatedly.

I sighed heavily.  I was not sure why I expected him to trust me and to believe me.  All I did was lie to him, he was right about that. "Jetty, I had to stay with Evan and teh Weasleys... to keep up the ruse that I was dead," I tried to explain.

I crossed my arms and glared at him.  I was so deeply hurt.  "Yeah, I can see that.  They are more important to you than your real son," I said ot him.

I shook my head at him. "No... it's not that at all.  If people knew that I was alive, they would bombard you -- the MInistry.  I'm protecting you," I assured him.

"Lies!" I said to him, exasperated.  I did not know what to do anymore.  I wanted to have a relationship with my father, but not if it meant tht I was second best.

"If they knew that a person who faked their deaht is around you, then yes... they would be all over you, Jetty," I snapped at my son.  "I need to stay in hiding or those who did wrong to me... they'll never pay."

I glared at my father, completely hurt by his lies.  I could not believe a word he was saying to me right now, could I?  I wanted to, though.  I really did.  "Is that really the most important thing in life for you?  Making them pay?  What about your own son?" I asked, hating how my hurt was becoming obvious.

"Of course they should pay!  They ruined our lives, Jetty.  How can you not see that?" I asked, wishing him to understand.

I shook my head.  "No!  You ruined our lives.  If you hadn't betrayed the Potters... you wouldn' thave had to fake your death," I said to him, trying to get him to realize that.

I was not expecting Jetty to get so worked up about everything.  I was actually angered by it.  "Look, Jetty, you don't undersatnd," I said to him angrily.  "The Dark Lord was very powerful then.  He will be powerful again, best you get that through your head.  I can't be having you running around saying anything otherwise."

I glared at him.  "Who's going to stop me?  It's not like you're around<" I spat at him angrily.

I glared at Jetty.  He had his mother's spunk, that was for sure.  "I'm around more than you think I am," I said to him sharpyly.
