It is important to remember that we all have magic within us -- Fall 1986?

I looked up at him, knowing that I shouldn't need him to tell me this, but I still did. "You really think so?" I waned to believe him but whenever I got my hopes up, Father was alway there to make sure I remembered that I was the disappointment. I was starting to believe that was all I would ever be to him. I was just happy that Draco didn't have to deal with this, he was prefect in Fathers eyes, and that was fine by me.

I grinned at her.  "Of course I do," I assured her.  I hoped that it was true, too.  She did not deserve to be treated the way she was while I was raised on a pedestal.  It was not fair.

I smiled over at Draco and hugged him. "You the best brother ever Draco. I don't deserve you." Father liked to pull out that line sometimes as well, someone like me didn't deserve to have a brother like Draco. He was perfect, and I was far from it.

I chuckled and hugged her back.  "Thanks, June... but you do deserve me or else we wouldn't be twins," I told her.  I knew what Father always said to her; I knew that she believed it to be true, too.  But it was my job to try to disprove all the negatives.

I shrugged, "I don't know Draco." I pulled back and started biting my nails. I knew Draco alway tried to convince me that I was good enough but I was starting to believe I would never be good enough for my family.

I shook my head.  "Stop biting at your nails, June," I said quietly.  "No one thinks you should do that - not even me."  I said that as gently as I could.  I knew Father always tried to critique us so I tried my best not to do so... but when it came to that habit, I had to.  It bothered me just as much as it bothered anyone else in the family.  But that was because I knew she tended to chew them down so far that she got them to bleed a few times before.

I looked down at my nail, realizing what I was doing. I let my hand fall down to my sides. "Sorry." I said as I looked down. I knew Father wouldn't approve and Draco didn't like it because I sometimes bit my nails so short they bled. "I guess I'll just have to try to get over this bad habit. Father might actually be proud of me if I manage to stop." But would I be able to?

I wanted to make up for sounding like Father.  "Try not to think about Father... he expects too much of us sometimes," I said, keeping my voice low.  If he heard me say that, I knew there would be a big fight adn I would be in big trouble.

I looked around quickly, hoping Father hadn't heard. "Draco don't say that!" It would be like him to get in trouble for saying something like that to help make me feel better. I sighed, "Who should I think about then?" If I didn't think about Father, then who? He was the one we had to listened to.

I sighed.  "Yourself?" I suggested.  Why should we always have to think about Father and what he wanted?  What about us?  We were just kids after all.

"Ourselves?" I said, thinking it through. It would be nice not to have to worry about what Father thought since I was sure I would be the disappointment all my life. There was no use trying to be anything else when he had our lives laid out before us. I nodded, "I could try to think of us."

I shook my head at her.  "You don't even need to worry about me, June.  Just think of you every now and then," I told her, though I knew that would never happen.  I would never be able to stop thinking of her along with myself and I knew that she was the same way.

"Of course I have to worry about you. Without you, there's no me." I assured him. I was nothing without Draco, even with him I was just the disappointment. But I would rather be the disappointment with him then the perfect one by myself.

I nodded, understanding completely.  "Alright, fine," I said, smiling at her.  "We'll just worry about ourselves every now and then -- but not enough to get in trouble."  We did not need Father to yell at us for thinking of ourselves and not him.

I nodded, I liked the sound of that. "Just enough to know who we really are but not enough to get in trouble with Father." The last thing we needed was to get in more trouble with Father. I didn't want Draco to get in trouble just for trying to help me, it wasn't worth it.
