I was standing at the end of my rainbow with nowhere to go and no pot of gold in sight -- Spring 2017
I was off by myself on the grounds with a book, which was completely irregular. I was normally with people and chatting -- especially this time of year. But nothing seemed to be the same anymore. If I was close to anyone, they found a way to irritate me and make me argue and then end up fighting them. So I secluded myself. It was best... and that way Dad did not end up having to come ot Hogwarts and Uncle Remus did not have to get involved. I found myself staring up towards the Astronomy Tower. I could barely go to Astronomy class because the Tower had been one of Mum and Dad's favorite spots. I wished that I had not been such a bad child... she was gone and now she had no way to know that I really did love her, despite how I acted. I felt tears wanting to rise to my eyes and I averted my gaze to something else... which happened to be Lauryn walking towards me. I really did not feel like talking, but Lauryn did have a way of keeping me from fighting. "Hey," I said as she sat down next to me.

"Hey," I said, sitting down in the grass next to Ryan. He looked like crap -- they all did. "So I was thinking about possibly skipping the rest of the day of classes and finding somewhere to go so the teachers don't find me... wanna join?" I normally was not the bad kid in school, but I wanted to help Ryan and I knew that he probably did not want to stick around the grounds and deal with learning or anything like that. I typically took after my mum, but not in this instance.

I raised my eyebrows at Lauryn. "Are you feeling okay?" I asked, knowing that she was not one to openly adn willingly skipped classes. Even if she was sick and in the hospital wing for something, she always made sure that she had her homework and was up to date on what happened during class -- typically making me or one of her cousins get everything for her.

I rolled my eyes. He was really asking me if I was okay? I put a hand on his shoulder. "Ryan, I'm fine," I assured him. "I'm more worried about you..." I wondered if he was sure what he was doing.

I looked over at her, brow furrowed slightly. "What do you mean? I'm fine," I lied simply. There was no reason for Lauryn to fret. "You should probably head to class..." I did not want her to skive off any classes just for me.

I shook my head at him. "Don't worry about me, Ryan," I said to him softly. "And I know better than to think you're fine. C'mon... let's do something to et your mind off of everything." I knew what he was thinking of, and he did not need ot keep dwelling on the loss of his mum. Besides, I was skiving Transfiguration. I was sure that my mum would hear me out and understand in the long run why I was skiving off class. If not, then she could give me detention.

"You have Transfiguration," I said. "That's your mum... she can do more than just give you detention." It was not that I did not appreciate her wanting to help me out, but I also did not want her to get in trouble, either.

I laughed and shook my head. "Then I'd explain my reasoning to her and she'd forgive me," I told him simply. "C'mon... I have a reason for every single one of your excuses. So let's skip that part and have some fun... get your mind off of everything."

I looked at Lauryn, still not entirely sure if she should do this. Why was I the one with the conscious about skivving class? I sighed, shaking my head to clear it. "Alright," I said, conceding as I really did not want to go to class.

I was surprised that he ended up agreeing like this. What were we going to do? I mean... I was the daughter of Ron and Hermione Weasley... I should be able to skive off class and have a plan. But I had too much of my mother in me. I smiled at him nonetheless and grabbed his arm to get him to follow me. "Let's go cause some trouble, hmm?" I suggested.

I raised my eyebrows at her. "Do you even know how to cause trouble?" I asked skeptically. She was doing one thing -- taking my mind off of what was going on in my life. That was alright.

I bit my lip. "Er... of course I do," I lied, wondering if he would see right through me on this. Which, knowing Ryan, he definitely would.

I rolled my eyes at her. "Are you just wanting me to get my mind off of things by showing you how to misbehave?" I asked, a smirk playing at my lips.

I smiled sweetly at Ryan. "Perhaps," I said, shrugging. "It's not like my plan was really foolproof." I knew that Ryan would see through waht I was doing, but then again, it was alright. His mind needed to be distracted.

I laughed slightly, though it almost sounded like a haunting sound. Definitely not me. I stopped quickly, not wanting to hear the sound anymore. "Yeah, you don't need to be captain obvious to see through it," I said to Lauryn as we walked. I was coming up with an idea of what we could do.
