I smiled, hoping that I was at least looking at him. "Daddy... you're going to have to help me with my problems... maybe I can help you with yours," I suggested, wanting to help him. I hated the fact that I could no longer see, but I wanted to try to get over it; that was what people said.

My little guy brought tears to my eyes. I kissed him on the forehead and started to wheel us towards the dining room where Addie was calling for us. "I think you're already helping, kiddo," I told him as we entered the room. "Oh boy, does that smell yummy, huh kids?" I looked up at Addison as she got Stan into a chair along with Sedona. I smiled the best I could at her. This was going to be tough on her as it was going to be on me.

"It's going to be great, Daddy! especially with you home to eat with us! We're a family again," I said matter-of-factly as I took a huge bite of my grilled cheese. I knew that they would yell at me if I continued talking with my mouth full, so I left it at that while I chew.
