Budding Friendship? Or Perhaps something more? -- February 1976

I smiled politely at October.  When she bent to get out her Charms book, I glared at Ember.  My smile returned when Tobi's face reappeared.  "Do you want any help?" I offered her.

I grinned at the two of them.  "I will always take help," I said, sighing.  "Charms is not my specialty, that's for sure."

Of course I knew that October always needed help with Charms work.  "She really is dreadful at it, Michael," I whispered, keeping an eye out for Madam Pince.  We did nto need kicked out.

I gave Ember a look, but turned my attention to October.  "Well, Charms is my specialty," I said with a grin.  "What exactly are you having trouble with...?"

I rolled my eyes at Ember, but turned my attention to Michael.  I sighed.  "Well... it's more or less the theories behind the incantations that he wants us to write about for our essay," I explained.  "I can o the magic... but the theory is not my specialty."

I smiled and watched the sparks fly.  It was so obvious that they both liked each other.  This was brilliant.  I stayed quiet and worked on my project while the two of them whispered about Tobi's issues with Charms.

I nodded at her while she spoke.  "Iunderstand completely," I said to her.  "Theories can be difficult to stick in your mind."

We all sat in the library working on Charms for a good handful of time.  We ended up getting up and then heading down to the Great Hall for a snack.  "Thank you so much for the help Michael," I said to him sincerely.  He really made itmuch easier to understand than Flitwick.

I merely smirked while they spoke.  "Yes, thank you Michael," I said, wiggling my eyebrows at him when he gave me a look.  I was so happy that Tobi was walking between us -- something I made sure of, of course.

I glared at Ember for her insinuations, but kept my mouth shut.  It was rather nice to be spending time with October.  "It's my pleasure," I said simply.

"So what were you guys going to be up to after being all studious?" I inquired as we walked.

I shrugged.  "I was thinking about grabbing a quick snack from teh Great Hall," I said.  "Studying always makes me hungry."

"That sounds like an excellent idea," I said to her, smiling.  "We'll get a few looks... the three of us together."

I rolled my eyes at Michael.  "And who cares what they say?" I questioned, looking over at Michael with a playful smile on my lips.

Why did Tobi have to be so overbearing sometimes?  She said it roughly, but then I saw her smile.  I knew she was just provoking Michael like she enjoyed to do for me.
