Love is in the air....or is it? ---February 2nd 1977 --Great Hall

I raised my eyebrows, '' Really...now why on earth would I spoil that for you? It might be good for you to go...'' I grinned at her. '' Beides you don't want Lily to pick out your dress for you..isn't supposed to be the joys of picking out and doing each others hair and that mess?'' I asked her curiously.

"Okay well to some people it's amazingly fun but I'd rather stick a quill in my eye than go dress shopping." I said with a grimace. Dress shopping was simply awful, didn't they get it that I hated it? Apparently not because I was going to either avoid it or be forced to go. The past dances I had managed to get out so if I ended up going this time, it would be the first time ever that I had to go dress shopping with them. I had gone shopping other times with them and that was horrible. "It's so boring and bloody annoying. And it takes people FOREVER."

" Yes well, I don't know exactly why it takes girls forever. Guys, it's just normally we go with whatever colour the girl is wearing... Simple...easy. " I shrugged. I loved just asking her what colour she was wearing and I was set. I always matched who I was going to the dance with. It was just something I do.

"Yes well neither do I. I should just ask my friends what color their wearing and match with them. Or just show up in sweatpants. I like that idea better." I said with a grin, taking a sip of my drink. "So you going to take Ember then? Or do you have your eyes set on someone else?" I asked with a smirk. It was fun messing around with the guys.

'' Well you can always match your friends or try to stand out. '' I shrugged. For girls it's a little more fun in a way.. you get to see the effects of what your outfits do to guys....'' I looked over to Ember. It couldn't hurt and that way James wouldn't have to worry about some creeper kid who would only want in her pants or something. She is cute... but James' sister... He had to know I wasn't going to do anything to his sister other than be a good friend to help him out and apparently send his sister to hysterics. '' You know I think I'll take her. That way no little fifth years go all creepy and only want one thing. I'm not interested in getting that from his little sister....right? I mean... I'd rather one of my friends take a younger sibling then some kid who I knew only wanted one thing.'' I explained. '' SO, I think I'll ask her. '' I wondered. '' Who do you have your sights on Ms. Ryleigh?''

"Oh that's a surprise I can't tell you." I said with a mischievous grin stick my tongue out at him. "Let's just say my entrance is going to be epic." I was half tempted to ask Snape out, just to piss all the guys off. Sirius would kill me if I did that and Snape would never get asked so it was perfect way to do it. He'd totally agree and I was so up for creating a scene at the party, I hated them so I might as well have a bit of fun. "I guess I should go shopping with the girls, they'll kill me if they found out I faked being sick. Anyways I should go talk to Lily, I'll see you later Sirius." I gave him a quick hug as I got up and then headed over towards Lily.

"Hey Lils, so you're dragging me to go dress shopping right?" I asked her with a huge sigh. "Because I really don't want to go but I know you're going to ask me, so I guess I'll go with you. We should leave now though before I change my mind." Sirius hadn't gotten up from the table yet, so I pelted a grape in his direction and hit him in the cheek.

Nodding, '' Well We shall look forward to seeing who it is.'' I grinned, I should go ask Ember, that way no other little creeps, ask her for only one reason. '' I felt juice afteer I got hit in the cheek, I looked down and I saw a grape. I grinned as I looked up to see Ryleigh grinning at me. I gave her a nod as I woke upfrom my thoughts, walking over to the Gryffindor table I sat down. I was going to ask my best friends sister to go to the dance.

'' Yeah... we can go as soon as possible...'' I grinned. '' you know you're not getting away with not coming this time...'' I smirked, '' You know when are you going to admit it that you like him....'' I had my hands on my hips as I watched her grinning at Sirius. '' He has someone in mind doesn't he? I asked her. '' I mean I think he is anyway.. I could always try to find out. '' I suggested.

"Huh?" I said confused not getting on who Lily was talking about until she looked over at Sirius and then at me. "God no!" I said in a disgusted tone. "I most certainly do not like Sirius in that way. And I already know who he's going to ask to the dance, he told me." I added with a grin, leaning in to tell Lily. "He's asking Ember, which will make her excited. She loves him."

'' She's going to love going to the dance with him. We'll have to get her set up...quite nicely then..I'm sure James would rather Sirius then some little creep.'' I agreed Ember will be so happy when he asks her. '' I said eagerly. I loved when everyone was slowly getting together. I think though taht too many girls like Sirius...I guess he was used to that though. A lot of the time though he uses that to his advantage. He needs to understand how much this could mean to Ember and what it'll mean to his bestfriend. Although, James shouldn't really care to much. '' So, you know when he's going to ask her?''

"Um soonish I'm guessing. He told me like two minutes ago that he was going to ask her now." I said with a grin. It was going to be interesting to see how different people reacted. James might actually get pissed if Sirius asked Ember even though I was pretty sure he didn't like her that way. I could tell that Ember liked Sirius though so that's mainly why I suggested that he would ask her."So you going with James?" I asked with a smirk, looking at Lily. "And who I'm going with is a surprise."

Grinning I wlaked over to Ember, '' Hey ...So, any little fifth year ask you to the dance?...If not ...then would you like to come with me?'' I asked her, looking at her face and then thinking of prongs. I was doing it for hte two of them. '' Well?''

I nearly dropped my fork. I did, however, dropped my jaw. Sirius was aksing me? Sirius was asking me?! Oh my god. I looked around to make sure that everyone else was actin gnormal... it may have just been a dream, you know. "I-I... no, no one's asked me yet," I said. Which I constantly complaiend about to Tobi about how no one liked me in that way. "And... of-of course. I mean, sure... going with you would be fine," I said, trying to act all calm and composed.

I nodded giving a grin. '' Fantastic.. It'll be fun...'' I ran a hand through my hair, hoping my best friend wasn't going to to kill me. But look how happy she looked. It was great. I looked over to the group of girls watching me ask her. I gave a wave, and a nod. Hoping that James wasn't going to kill me.

I noticed that he looked at the group of girls. My euphoria dropped slightly. "Are you doing this because you want to... or because someone forced you to?" I asked quietly. Not quite sure how I'd take the news if someone put him up to it...
