Re: Home for the holidays -- December 1995
I threw food at Uncle Georgie and giggled as I grabbed more food, listening to him. I threw it at Daddy and Uncle Charlie. "Dis fun!" I shouted, giggling happily.

I laughed, not entirely sure if I was going to be able to keep my son from causing any more of a mess. "Don't turn on me," I said, wiping some of the food off of my face. Seth did have good aim. I took a quick glance, glad that Mum was still in the kitchen. Dad would not do anything, I knew. I flung some food at my younger brothers, smirking.

I started to hear Mum's voice coming towards the opening. I coughed to give warning, but was not entirely sure if I was heard because just then she stepped through the door with a tray in her hand piled high with the desserts. One look at her face told me she knew exactly waht was going on in here.

I had tried to wipe the food off of my shoulder before Mum came in, but to no avail. I knew that look on her face. "Great," I muttered, shaking my head.

"What do you think you're doing?" I asked the entire group, glaring down at all of them with the dessert floating in front of me.

"Helping you with handing out dessert," I said hastily, standing up. "And then I was planning on helping Bill out and going upstairs to see if Ros is up from her nap..." I really wanted to get out of dodge if I could from Mum's wrath.

I rolled my eyes, quickly wiping my face off. I did not need Mum to really look us all over to see who the real culprits were. "Gee, Charlie, you're not going to skive away from Mum's yelling," I pointed out at him.

I thought that it was hilarious to see the boys of the Weasley family cower underneath of the glare from Mrs. Weasley. I only hoped that one day my kids -- boys, if I had any -- would do the same thing when they knew they were in trouble.

As soon as the food was being thrown I ducked down out of the way to avoid the inevitable wrath of Molly. I knew it would be coming. Knowing that she was going to make all of them clean up the mess that had been created. I piped up when Charlie said he can go see if Ros was up from her nap. " I can go do that and Elena and Jada can come with me?" I suggested.

I hated the fact that the girls were goign to be able to escape. REally? I sighed. "That's probably best," I said, resigning myself for the fact that Mum was going to blow up at us.

I hid my groan and sat back down. I was not going to argue... if the ladies had the chance to leave, they should take it.

I stood up, taking Tonks up on her offer. "Yeah, I think that sounds like a wonderful idea,' I said quickly, maneuvering my way through the chairs and bodies that were crowding the dining area.

Creeping away from my wife as I started to head to the kitchen while she spoke with the kids. I almost took tonks up on the offer to see my grand daughter. I knew one of the boys wasn't going to let me escape.

I came back in and I saw the ladies headed out... then I saw the mess. "Arthur, don't you dare," i added to my husband when he tried to sneak out behind Jada, Elena, Tonks, and Desdemona. "What do you think you all were doing in here? This mess will be cleaned up -- by hand," I informed them. Here we were meeting Desi for the first time and this was the impression they wanted to make for her! Granted, this was a typical Weasley dinner, but I expected more manners.

I flinched slightly when Mum used her tone with Dad. I groaned, though. She had to add the 'by hand' part. Not that everone could use magic, but most could... and they would help a lot faster. "Mum, c'mon... can't we just do it by magic? so we can have ome time with the guests?" myabe I could work on her that way.
