I had made sure that Dean was in his dorm by himself.. I really didn't need Ron or Harry giving me a hard time. I saw Dean doing something and knocked slightly. "Hey, I wanna talk to you," I said, walking in when Dean turned and nodded me over.

"Yeah, what's up?" I asked, trying to get things to fit together in my trunk. Yes I was obviously staying for the concert, but I needed to start packing a little bit. I was a procrastinator. And it definitely showed. I was shirtless and bearfoot just wearing some jeans. I hated to wear shorts... I thought htey looked dorky on me.

I sighed. If it was this hard to ask her brother how hard was it going to be to ask her dad? I sat down and looked at him. "Look, I know we give each other shit and all, but I've got something serious to talk to you about,"I started.

I leaned against the pole of the four-poster bed. "Yeah, I know. Sorry about all that... I just have ot. It's my job as an older brother," I informed him. Like he needed to be informed -- he had a younger sister. He probalby understood.

I laughed and waved him off. "I wasn't saying that for you to apologize, I was just saying that let's not do that right now anyways," I responded, figuring I hadnt' phrased it great in the first place. I was just sort of all over the place.

I shrugged. "I figured... but still, didn't want us on the wrong foot anymore," I told him. "So what's up? You look a little stressed out or something."

I chuckled slighlty. "Well, that would be because I am, Dean," I answered. "I know it's not typical for a guy to do it this way... but I also know that you're protective of your sister -- whether you admit it or not."

He had me there. I hated to admit it, but I was protective of her. She deserved the best and hardly anyone would be up to par for it. "Yeah," I said slowly. Where exactly was he going with this? I crossed my arms and stayed leaning against hte post watching him. I didn't necessarily mean to look intimidating, but then again... it may be good to be so.

"Well... I'm sure you've realized by now that your sister means a lot to me and I would like to think that I mean a lot to her," I began. "So, I'd like to know I have your permission before I ask her to marry me."

My eyes widened. Alright, wasn't encessarily expecting that. "Er -- what?" I asked, not quite sure if I herad him properly. I mean, I wasn't going to stand in the way... but still. What?

Oh no, this wasn't going too well. "I don't want to rush into a wedding or anything... I know she's a couple years younger than me and might not be quite ready for that. But I think we're ready for at least this next step," I said, finding myself talking really fast in fear he wouldn' let me get everything out before punching me or osmething.

I nodded slowly. "No, no, I understand all that. You just caught me completely off guard," I explained, standing straight now and running a hand through my hair. "I guess I can't believe you asked me."

I let out a sigh of relief. He wasn't going to punch me... he was just shocked. I guess I couldn't blame him. I would hate if hte sucker who married Ginny would want to go through all of us brothers first. That would definitely suck. Especially Bill. Bill really had a soft spot for Ginny.. .worse than any of the rest of us. "Well, I had been going back and forth on the idea," I admitted.

I chuckled a little bit. "REally? And what made you decide to ask me exactly? All you really need is dad's approval," I said, grinning at the thought of George askign Dad.. Man would I like to be tehre for that.

I shrugged. "To be honest, I'm not sure. Maybe it's just my way of working u the courage to ask your dad," I told him honestly. "But I know how close you all are, so I thought it best and would make Lenni feel really good if she knew that I had asked both of you."
