This ain't love, it's clear to see -- December 1976

I raised my eyebrows.  "You think I'm a stupid guy who wanted to hurt her?  James, I really liked your sister!  I'm not one of those other wankers... I actually fancied Ems... I don't need to deal with this mess with you."

I stared at Jeremy incredulously.  "Are you calling Sirius a wanker?" I asked, wondering if he was really daring to insult my best mate.  "Sirius likes Ems, just not in that way.  Definitely not."

I rolled my eyes.  "That's obvious," I muttered.  "He only treats her like shite most of the time."  I glared at James.  "I don't think this conversation is necessary, James."

I could not believe what Taylor was saying to me.  "You best tread carefully, Taylor," I said to him, my eyes were slits.  "You don't insult one of my best mates."

"Then you best not insult my intelligence, Potter," I snapped at him.  "I know how to treat your sister better than any of you lot, so don't be coming at me like this."  I stood up and started to walk away.

I raised my eyebrows at Taylor.  "excuse me, but I treat my sister perfectly fine.  I treat her like a bloody sister," I pointed out simply.  "Yeah, we have our spats, but you know what?  I'm always in her corner.  and I swear... you are getting ot the point where you're a threat.  And I deal with threats in only one way..."

I laughed sarcastically at James.  "You treat her worse than a sister, James," I said to him flatly.  "And the only threat I am is to you -- because I see right through your games you play with Ember.  She's not just someone you can push around and do your bidding just because she's your baby sister."

I could not believe what I was hearing.  "I don't push her around or make her do my bidding," I said to him venomously.  How dare he accuse me of such things?  I mean, yeah, I was a bit harsh towards Ember, but nothing more than any other normal brother would be.

I laughed at James.  "Right," I said to him sarcastically.  "You don't do any of that.  Yeah, that's why she constantly complained about it to me."

I narrowed my eyes at Taylor.  "We're siblings; of course we hate each other sometimes.  That's what we do.  I'm sure you do the same bloody thing with Ryleigh.  But there's no reason to be arguing with me about my relationship wiht my sister.  We are talking about you and her," I said to him sharply.

"No, you were talking about me and her," I pointed out.  "I honestly don't give a shite about it anymore.  Her and I are finished... so why are we even having this conversation?"

I glared at him.  "Because I know you, Taylor.  You don't just let things go," I said to Jeremy easily.
