A man unwilling to fight for what he wants gets what he deserves

Smirking, " please...I could handle the bad boy this one might be boring." I said as I gave him a light shove. I laughed at the expression I got. " You know I'm joking." I said as I put my arm around him. I missed doing this just being us and walking around. " To actually answer of course I can. You doubt me?" I asked.

I grinned at her and shrugged.  "Nah, I have complete confidence that you can handle me now if you could handle me then," I answered.  I took a look around and realized that I never fully appreciated how nice this city was.  And it was definitely due to Aimee, I knew.  I shook my head a little bit.  "You are going to have to give me details on what happened with you after I so-called died," I said.  I knew we had all the time in hte world now, but I missed her so much.  I could probably spend weeks without sleep just catching up with her about everything that I had missed.

" Well, after you died....quite a few people who were friends of yours came to chat..." I explained. I didn't go into to much detail. I didn't want to tell him they tortured me due to me not telling them where he was. They assumed I had known. When they assume something it is difficult to get them to stop. Smiling, " Damn right I can handle you....other than that I didn't believe you were gone. Just something wasn't closed....." I said as I went on explaining.

Even though she did not say it, I knew what had happened then. She did not need to say it out loud. I saw it written on her face and I knew that if some 'friends' came to chat, then they probably did what I was trying to prevent anyone from doing. "Aimee, I'm so sorry," I said softly. "I should have known they wouldn't believe I was dead... I guess a part of me did think that or I would not have gone through all the lengths I did to not get caught as myself here." I shook my head. I bet that it was Darwin who hurt her... I was supposedly his assignment. I was going to kill him -- for torturing me in the past and for hurting the woman I loved. I looked at her and smiled slightly. "I can't believe you didn't think I was really gone..."

I smirked, " Don't apologize..." I said quietly. It's not like it was his idea. " It's not like you could control it..." I said to him as I wanted to be with him forever. " I don't know...when you love someone it just feels different when they go...I guess." I said with a short smile.

I could have controlled it.  I could have faced them instead of running after I did what I thought had to be done.  I mean, then I would be dead, but at least they would not have hurt them... though knowing Darwin and the rest of them, they still would have hurt the ones I loved before actually killing me.  I sighed and pushed my shaggy hair away from my face.  "Well, now, I suppose it's a good thing you didn't give up on me," I said, putting my arm aroudn her shoulders and giving her a squeeze.  I was not sure if I was going to ever let aimee out of my sights again... I knew being with her was dangerous for both of us.  They were probably watching he and ergo found me.  I looked down at her.  "You know... as much as I know being around me is horribly dangerous, I am glad that we somehow found each other."  I did not want to go through this life alone... even though I knew it was the best way to protect those I loved...

Smiling, " Me too...and reg... you are stuck with me now for good..." I told him. Sticking my tongue out to him. " I'm not going anywhere again...neither are you." I said with a smile.

I groaned playfully.  "But I don't plan on going anywhere... I'm a pretty cool guy here," I said.  I actually had a job working with Muggles -- something my parents would never have approved of.  I just wanted to try to avoid being recognized.  I already had my cover in the Wizarding world, so I may as well use it in the Muggle world as well.

" Good, then you're not going anywhere..." I said with a smile. I couldn't be happier, his friends visit was worth this. If I knew this was going to happen it would have made it a lot more easier.

I grinned and kissed her.  "Just out of curiosity... who was it?  Who hunted you down to try to get to me?" I ased quietly.  This would be the only time I would ask her that.  I just had to know if it was Darwin... or who it was.  I was goign to have to make them pay.

It was three of them. " It was three of them...they all took part in it." I said with a small smile. " They didn't just have one on one....they got be from behind..." I told him as I explained I looked to the ground to avoid his gaze. " It's better now anyway."

I sighed and rubbed her shoulders, trying to tell myself it did nto matter now.  It was all in the past.  Nothing I did now would change what had already been done.  There was no point in questioning her to feed my need for revenge.  It was best if I did not know; that way I would not go after them.  I wondered if that was what she was thinking... always protecting me from myself it seemed.  for that I was grateful.  I needed someone to keep me from doing stupid things.  When left to my own devices, look what happens.  I follow expectations and then wonder why I am not my own person.  I smiled at her.  "You're right.  It's better now... no reason to dredge up details from something that was so horrible," I said, hoping that I would be able to not know.

Smiling to him, " It's okay... I agree though...better not to bring up the past. " I nodded as I leaned into him rubbing my shoulders. It felt awesome. " You should stop or I am going to have to ask you to continue."

I laughed.  "I don't mind... I can easily continue," I said, doing just that.  It was actually calming me down, too.  Helping me to keep my mind from thinking with a Death Eater's mind.  I had to fight that so much... it had never truly left me.  I could not help but feel a little frightened that Aimee may come to realize that and not want to be with me.
