My eyes flashed open when he said they froze him during the transformation. That could have been deadly. "will, we need to go up so you can be looked at and so liv can be more respectfully seen. You can stay with her the entire time," I spoke softly. I knew this was hard... I knew what it felt like to be helpless and unable to save the one you loved... It breaks you. But that was when you needed someone to aid you to take care of yourself

I nodded to my dad as I felt as though I was a ghost. I picked her up when all I wanted was for this to be a horrible nightmare. One that the love of my life wakes ip and she wasn't tortured in front of me. This was the hardest walk of my life. I carried her limp body up to the castle as fast as I could muster myself to do it. " she needs to be rested....." I said hoping my dad knew what I meant. Looking to them, " I was going to propose to her...." isaid as the tears just rolled down my cheeks I didn't know what to do, how to feel.

I knew exactly what Will meant, which was why I tried to carefully usher him more towards the castle than staying on the grounds.  I was sure that Will was going to stay with Olivia probably all night; and I would make sure that Pomfrey would let him if at all possible.  Yes, he would have to say goodbye at one point or another... but saying goodbye is hard to do.  One needs time to come to terms with it... and I was going to make sure that Will had as much time as he needed.  I squeezed my son's shoulder and gently steered him when necessary... he was merely a shadow of the boy that I raised.  He wasn't even paying attention to where he was going.  It broke my heart to see my son like this.  "I know, kiddo..." I whispered softly.  I wanted to take away my boy's pain... he didn't deserve this.

We had gotten to the hospital wing and I walked her over to a nearby bed, that's where I lost it. Letting myself fall down beside her bed on the floor. " If I....I could h...have....only fought harder..." I sobbed into the sheets. Not caring who was in the room or who would be entering the room. I just wanted this to stop.

I had to get Pomfrey.  I looked at Lucy and said, "Stay with him."  I squeezed his shoulder and only left when I saw Lucy wrapping her arms around her brother.  I sent for professor Dumbledore and Madame Promfrey to get to the hospital wing.  Dumbledore needed to know that a student was killed... and that Death Eaters were able to apparate into Hogwarts.

Like I was going let my brother stay here by himself?  I wrapped my arms around him the best that I could.  "Will... you did everything you could..." I said, my voice catching in my throat.  Olivia was one of my best friends... we always joked around about how we'd be in each other's weddings and stuff.  She was one of the first people I told about meeting Ayden -- I even told her who the mysterious boy was because how on earth was I going to hide that from my best friend?

I cried into the sheets, putting a hand on Lucy's hand as she was with me. " I want her back..." I told my sister. " I just want her back.."

I squeezed his hand.  "I know, Will... me too..." I said quietly, trying to be strong for Will and attempting to blink back tears.

I reached up to my sister and pulled her into a hug. Sobbing uncontrollably. I couldn't do anything else. I didn't know what to do.

I held onto my brother and I could not keep any of it back.  I cried into his shoulder while trying to comfort him.  I wished I was strong enough to keep it together for him... but was that really being any stronger?

I held onto her as I cried, I couldn't hold it in. I wish I could have because they had been best friends. " I know I could've pushed....I could've done more..." I sobbed, " I was only frozen, a few cracked ribs...nothing more than regular...why?" I sobbed, " Why....what did she do?"

I sniffled, trying to get some composure.  "You can't... don't blame yourself," I said between sobs.  "She wouldn't... want you to..."  And as for his question?  Well, that was one I wanted to know the answer to myself.  It wasn't Will's fault.  But why would they do this to such a sweet person?
