ROMANIA: Your eyes shine as bright as the stars -- December 1995 (DONE)

I laughed and buried my face in his chest.  "How about we skip mine and just do yours?" I suggested, not really relishing the idea of my mother grilling him about anything.  She did not really knew what I was up to here in Romania.  I tried to contact her as little as possible.  The look on Charlie's face was priceless.  "Oh, like that idea, do you?" I asked, thinking he was dodging a bullet or something when it was really me who was dodging the bullet.  I would probably be the one grilled at my parents and his parents.  I started to skate off when he pulled me in the other direction, back towards the land rather than the middle of the pond.  "I swear, Charlie, if you make me fall..." I threatened.

I chuckled and shook my head. "And what will you do about it?" I teased, pulling her to the land. I changed my shoes back to regular shoes rather than skates and did the same for Des. I walked with her hand still in mine towards the pathway. "But yes, I do like the idea of avoiding your parents... but I'd have to meet them eventually. It wouldn't be fair if you were the only one to suffer through meeting the parents," I said to her, bringing her hand to my lips to kiss. "You will need notecards, though. There's not much time before we'll have to leave... I am going to have to get started on those for you." Great, I just added more work to myself. This was ridiculous.

I laughed and said, "Trust me... if we met my parents... I'd still be the one getting the third degree, not you."  I walked with him and added, "Yes... you better get me those notecards asap."  I had to tease him.  He thought his family was going to be so difficult... I'm pretty sure I could handle it.  I was not worried like he was.  "You have one sister and the rest are guys... how hard could meeting them be?" I asked.

I stopped and faced her. I kissed her forehead and said, "You underestimate my family so much. that is mistake number one." I sighed and ran a hand through my curls. I continued walking with her back towards her flat. "We could always get started tonight if you'd like." I figured that would be easiest. "When were you going to leave to see your family?" I questioned. I wanted to know what type of time frame we were looking at.

"I will probably be leaving in about a week or so," I answered.  And underestimating them was my number one mistake?  How bad were they going to be to me?  Now Charlie was really making me worried.  "That might be a good idea if I am underestimating your family already... I'm going to need all the help I can get."  What was I so concerned about?  I enjoyed meeting families... hello, I tracked down my own brother to meet him after fifteen years.  What a shocker that was, but it turned out alright.

I laughed and we finally got back to her place and shed our winter gear. She went to make us something to drink and I found some paper and a pen. When she returned with steaming cups I was grateful... until I saw that it was tea. I was not entirely a fan of tea, but I was not going to ask for something else. "I didn't expect you to be someone for tea," I said with a smile, taking a drink.

I shrugged and took a drink.  "It's just something that my brother introduced me to," I said, not thinking it was a big deal.  I went ahead and let him start helping me learn a little bit more about his family.  I had already known there was quite a few kids and two of them were twins.  He only had one older brother and the rest were younger.  And there was only one girl... but it was so hard to keep them all straight.  So this was going to help a lot.  Charlie started to draw out a family tree -- which was horrible, but made do I suppose -- and I got a little bit of a cheat sheet of who was who and a little bit of information so I could carry on conversations.  "So why should I be more concerned about Ginny than any of the guys?" I questioned.

I laughed. "Well, first she's the youngest. She's the only girl... she is high maintenance -- well, not entirely, but still. I think she's just more tough than any of us guys. We made her that way," I explained. I was just hoping everyone behaved themselves. "And you will most likely bunk with Ginny if Mum -- and I know she will -- insists you stay at The Burrow rather than at a hotel or with your parents if they drive you as crazy as you say," I added, thinking that I knew my mother well.

I laughed and picked up our cups of tea.  "Well... just make sure you leave that cheat sheet here," I informed him from my kitchenette.  I leaned against the counter as he stood up and came to give me a hug.  I wrapped my arms around him as his hands settled on my hips.  "And at least give them a heads up that you're bringing me.  I don't want to intrude if your mother doesn't want me there," I said, thinking that Christmas dinner was a time for family, not for a bunch of introductions.

I kissed the top of her head and squeezed her.  Releasing her I said, "Don't worry about it; my mum is dying to meet you and I haven't even told her about you yet.  That's just the way my mum is.  She'll most likely hug you when she sees you... she's a very touchy-feely person.  I may see you tomorrow at work... I hear we have a new batch of hatchlings from Peruvian Vipertooth's that will most likely need some sort of health check-up before we try to introduce them to the wild again," I said, walking towards her door.  I knew we both had longs days ahead of us in the morning so after this crash course of Weasley family history, I figured we should probably head to bed.

I laughed and figured I would see him or one of his guys tomorrow at the clinic among many other species besides just dragons.  I gave him another kiss on the lips.  "Well, be careful with those little devils... they're quite rotten," I said.  I opened my door for him and we kissed again.  "Alright... Goodnight, Charlie."  He bade me farewell and I closed the door.  I grabbed my cheat sheet and put it in a safe spot so I would not misplace it.  I needed to make sure that I studied it any chance I got.
