Blood Isn't always thicker than water -- Fall 1996

I nodded, turning on the spot and entering the Great Hall.  I was so grateful at being inside of the warmth.  I went over to the Ravenclaw table out of habit and pulled towards me a mug with hot steaming liquid in it.  I took a sip of it.  "Ah, this is better," I said simply to Ayden, smirking.

I chuckled at her and took a cup for myself.  "Yeah, yeah," I said, rolling my eyes.  "It doesn't taste too shabby."

I rolled my eyes at him.  "You're ridiculous," I said, wishing that he was not such an arse about things like that.  "How are things with you and Lucy?" Of course I wanted to gossip.

Of course Stephanie would choose a different route of conversatino and aim it towards my relatinoship with Lucy.  I rolled my eyes at her.  "It's none of your business," I pointed out to her, though I knew she would not let it go that easily.

I smirked, knowing that the relationship was getting somewhere if he was getting testy about me asking him about it.  "Oh, it is so my business, Ayden!  You butt your nose into any relationship I have... so I think it's only fair that I ask about yours," I poitned out to him.

I shook my head.  "But I'm just protecting you... I, however, do not need protecting," I poitned out to her, hoping she would take that as the end of the conversation.

I rolled my eyes at him.  "I do not need your protection from boys, Ayden," I pointed out to him simply.  "Come on, though... you can't talk to your brother about anything... you need to talk to me at least about Lucy."

I gave her a skeptical look.  "Says who?  I don't need to talk to anyone about anything," I said to her simply.  Espeically about my relationship life...

I rolled my eyes.  "Keep telling yourself that," I said to him.  Why were men so ridiculous about everything?  "Look... you need to talk to someone about things.  You can't just keep it all bottled up inside."

"But why does it have to be relationship-like things?" I asked, exasperated.  Why did women always want to gossip?

I rolled my eyes at him.  "Because are you going to talk to your guy friends about relatinoships?" I asked skeptically, rasing my eyebrows at him.

I sighed.  "I guess you're right about that," I admitted.  "But it doesn't mean that I am going to spill all the details with you, either, Steph."

I rolled my eyes.  "Oh, come on, Ayden!" I said, exasperated.  "Just talk to me about Lucy."

I rolled my eyes.  Why did girls always want to talk about feelings and stuff?  "Alright, fine.  I fancy her," I said simply.  Of course we both knew that already.  But what did she want from me?

I just stared at Ayden with disdain.  "Really?  I would have never guessed," I resonded wutg sarcasm
