Summer Nights -- July 1973

I was so grateful to get Ember's owl.  I was packed with some clothes for an overnight and over at Potter Manor in a matter of minutes it seemed.  I walked out of hte fireplace and nearly got knocked over by Ember's enthusiasm.  "Hey!  I'm so happy you saved me!" I joked, though it was not necessarily a joke.

I laughed, hugging October the instant she stepped out of the fireplace.  "So... guess what?" I said excitedly.  I did not give her any time to answer.  "WE're going on vacation!"

I laughed, hugging her.  "That's awesome!  Where are you guys going?" I asked, figuring that Ember just wanted to share exciting news.

I grinned at her.  "The States," I answered.  I led her up to my bedroom.  "And you're going ot come with us!  If you're allowed," I added, though I was sure that Tobi would be able to come.

A huge grin came across my lips.  "You're joking!" I said, thinking that she was mental.  There was no way that Mr. and Mrs. P would take me on holiday with them.  Would it not be too expensive?

I grinned and shook my head at her.  "Not at all!  James is bringing someone, too.  Probably Sirius," I said, shrugging, trying not to fret about the fact that my big crush was going on holiday with us.

I smirked.  "Excellent... we can make sure that no one does a thing to bother us," I said, knowing that the boys would try to prank us or something.

I laughed.  "Yeah, I would hate to be with just the two of them... that'd be like living at home and not a vacation," I said.  "They'd be pranking me like crazy and everything..."  I sighed and shook my head.  Why did I still really like Sirius?

I grinned back at Ember.  "And what makes you think with me it'll be any different/" I asked.

I smirked.  "Well, at least I'll have help when I have to get them back at their pranks on us," I pointed out to her.

She had a point there.  "Yeah... and you don't mess with a Slytherin," I added, grinning evilly.

I laughed.  "Exactly," I said easily.  Then I looked at Tobi and giggled like such a girl.  "We should definitely try to prank them big time... They won't expect it at all."

I smirked, enjoying the fact that Ember was letting loose a little bit -- even with the idea of SIrius going on vacation with them.  "Well, I think that could be arranged,"I assured her.

And that was why I loved October.  "What do you think we should do?  We really ought to start planning now... because you know James and Sirius will have it all planned out by the time the holiday comes," I said to her simply.

I smirked.  "Well... we could make a potion like the one they made.... turn them into girls," I said, remembering when they made Ember into a boy.  She was so so mad at them for weeks.
