It's hard to resist a new beginning- september 1 1971

I looked at Remus.  "Dumbledore is a wise man," I assured Remus.  "He isn't wrong about you."

I looked at Ember.  "You know I"ll be home at Christmas time," I said to her.  "And I'll write... you'll love not having me around.  Trust me."

I sighed, not wanting to admit that I would miss James, but I really would.  "Alright," I said to James.  "You better write.  Ooh!  Maybe I could take over his room while he's gone?"

I took a deep breath and nodded at Dad.  "I hope not," I said to him quietly.  I was so nervous about this.  I just hoped that I could make it through the year without hurting someone during a transformation.

I gave my son another hug.  "You ought to get on the train and find somewhere to sit -- the platform has cleared tremendously and you might not get a good seat on the train," I said to him.  "I will write to you often, Remus.  And I want to know how the Sorting goes tonight."

I gave my sister and parents hugs.  "Alright, I'll let you know how things go at the Sorting Ceremony!" I said, waving over my shoulder as I started to run up onto the train.  I wondered if I was going to find any mates straight away or if things would end up being difficult for me.

I gave my brother a hug and watched him board the train.  "I can't wait to go there, too," I said, pouting a little bit.
