G. T. Ollivander
Name: Gabriel "Gabe" Tanner Ollivander
Parents: Garridan Ollivander and Monica (Tanner) Ollivander
Siblings: Persephone "Liv" Talia Ollivander
Birthday: 22 January 1971
House: Ravenclaw, Years: Sep 1982 - June 1990
Wand: Cedar and
Patronus:
Personality: Gabriel is hard to judge and quiet -- except on the Quidditch Pitch. Once his head is in the game, he becomes quite a snarky lad. He kind of keeps to himself and is a good listener. He finds that being soft spoken is the best way to study people.
Bio:
Before School Years: His parents were tortured and murdered in the first Wizarding War. Gabe and his sister, Liv, were raised by his grandfather, Garrick Ollivander (yes, the famous wand maker from Diagon Alley). He was always fascinated by his grandfather's work, though was unsure of whether or not he would follow in those footsteps. Liv was younger than him, but Gabriel was not the overprotective brother one might think he would be. Liv could definitely take care of herself. She hated when Gabe teasingly called her Persephone. There was nothing wrong with her given name, but Liv did not like it becaue a lot of people mispronounced it.
When it was time to get a wand, Gabe's grandfather knew at once that his grandson would need a cedar wand. The perceptiveness of the boy and his loyalty to his family was very evident. However, Garrick was a little worried when the wand that chose Gabriel was one cored with dragon heartstring because Gabe always had a bit of fire in his heart when it came to his parents' deaths. And Gabe was one who wanted to find out which Death Eater killed his parents.
During School Years: While in school, Gabe became quite the competitive flyer. He became mates with Bill Weasley, though once on the pitch, they teased each other mercilessly because that was what they did. Gabriel enjoyed flying casually, too, which was what he and Bill would do to get some extra practicing in before games. They would even help point things out they noticed from Hufflepuff and Slytherin to help each other out. Of course they would be extremely secretive of their own teams. It was all out of fun and never let things bother them after a game,t hough. Their friendship was too strong for that. Gabe and Liv were always welcome at the Burrow, and they did take that invitation quite a lot. Liv always kept up with the boys and Gabriel was always so proud of her for doing so.
Gabriel focused mainly on his studies, but did date a fellow Ravenclaw for a year or so -- mainly during sixth year, because once NEWTs hit, Gabriel buckled down. It was not until later years that Gabriel decided to settle down.
After School Years: Gabriel stayed close mates with Bill after Hogwarts, even though one was in England and the other was in Egypt. They always joked about how Annette dated the two of them... but joking ceased hwen she fell into the seemingly endless coma. Uncle Gabe became well known with Seth and Rosalynn, but the kids did not get to see him much until they moved back to England. Gabriel did end up focusing his studies on wandlore, though he broadened his search for cores to Hippogriff feathers along with Thestral hair. His grandfather was not exactly pleased with that, but he let Gabriel add his own flair to wandlore.
Gabriel was not initially planning on being part of the Order, but Bill convinced him that it was a worthy cause. And it gave him reason to figure out all the death Eaters and try to find who the culprit was who murdered his parents. Besides, when his grandfather was kidnapped and tortured for nearly two years... Gabriel's heart turned dark as he felt the panic he had felt when he was merely seven/eight years old when his parents went missing. When the second war ended in 1998, Gabriel felt as if he were empty. His grandfather had been saved; his sister was alright; his vengeance taken care of. His passion for wandlore only took him so far, but he rebuilt Ollivander's and owned the shop, though his grandfather still tried to help as much as he could. The torture that You-Know-Who and his followers did... well, that changed Garrick.
The summer after the war, he came across the youngest of the Carrows, who looked as though she had been beaten. He helped her and learned that she was renouncing her ways, but the Ministry was after her for all the wrongs she had done during the war. Gabriel was unsure whether or not he believed her, but he took her within the shop and at least helped to patch her up. He was always a good listener, so he just let her talk. They knew each other from school, but she had never seemed like the darkest witch out there, despite her interests in certain Dark magic and being sorted into Slytherin. Plus having Amycus as a brother. Gabriel helped her become so much more. It was his idea for her to go to the Malfoy's funeral despite the fact that her nephew would be there -- he wanted her to try to make amends. Or at least show to him that she was remorseful. Whether or not it would be believed, that was a different story.
About Gabriel's wand:
"Whenever I meet one who carries a cedar wand, I find strength of character and unusual loyalty. My father, Gervaise Ollivander, used always to say, ‘you will never fool the cedar carrier,’ and I agree: the cedar wand finds its perfect home where there is perspicacity and perception. I would go further than my father, however, in saying that I have never yet met the owner of a cedar wand whom I would care to cross, especially if harm is done to those of whom they are fond. The witch or wizard who is well-matched with cedar carries the potential to be a frightening adversary, which often comes as a shock to those who have thoughtlessly challenged them" -- Words from Mr. Ollivander himself (and from Pottermore).
"As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner.
The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental."-- Words from Mr. Ollivander (and from Pottermore).

Definitely. Though, Gabe, I'm worried you're with someone... so unlike you.
