Hidden objects -- TBD

I walked out of the girls dorm and saw the boys peering at something and narrowed my eyes. Approaching them, I realized what it was.  "Ahem," I said, crossing my arms and staring at them.

I looked up and saw my sister.  When her reaction was mere suspicion, I looked at the other three briefly:  definitely not hers.  "Oh, well, you know... we found something rather intriguing," I said to her casually.

I glanced up from my book and chuckled slightly at the expression on Ember's face.  I lowered my gaze and started to read again, though I was also paying attention to how the boys would get themselves out of this one.

I narrowed my eyes even more at James and the guys.  "Clearly," I said looking at each and every one of them.  Remus was not even looking at me.  Peter was the only one who squirmed under my gaze - always the weakest link.  "What are you doing with it?" I asked Peter.

" Nothing obviously...it's sitting there and we are here...It's not as if trophies need to be collected...we're not that weird." I said as naturally as I could make myself. I mean, I know she was looking at Peter but he would make something up and Ember would have him talk.

If we kept Ember talking, she would stop trying to get Peter to crack.  "Ems... it's not our fault if something just happened to be in our line of vision.  Maybe if you ladies would be more careful with things, innocent bystanders like ourselves would not come across it," I pointed out to her easily, leaning back in my seat a bit, running my hand through my hair.

Nodding to Prongs as I agreed with him. " Exactly for once I did nothing." I said with a smirk. I could say that and it was actually the truth. I shuddered what the heck is coming of me.

I looked at Ember with an innocent smile.  "I do have to vouch for them... it's not like they went up to your dorm and brought it down -- the staircases would have ended up screaming and everyone would have known," I pointed out easily enough.

I hated when one of them, typically Remus, used logic. "Alright... I'll give you that. But why don't you just hand it over and I'll be sure that there isn't any more trauma than necessary," I stated simply.

Smirking, " She knows who it belongs too otherwise she wouldn't care so much." I pointed out. It is true most girls would just call us pigs or something and say they would take it back. Why would she put so much emphasis on taking it back if she didn't know who the owner was?

I gave my sister a closer gaze and deduced that Sirius had to be right about that. I grinned evilly. "You know what, mate, you are quite right about that,"I said, leaning forward and putting my elbows on my knees. "Why don't you run off, Ems... this was clearly just a mistake of a house elf's or something. They can take care of it later..." I was just curious as to if Ember would continue to argue with us about it or run along. It would help prove or disprove Sirius's statement.

I wouldn't disagree with you. " I know I'm right otherwise she would have jumped in by now. " I said as I couldn't wipe the knowing grin off my face. I knew she was thinking of a comeback and I wanted to know how she was going to get out of this.

I rolled my eyes at them. "I hate to ruin your wild imaginations, but just because I care doesn't mean I know who it belongs to,"I said to them. "Perhaps I just want to save whoever it belongs to the humiliation of dealing with you lot."

I didn't believe any of that. " Ah, I see. I mean it is very kind of you to save the person that humiliation. I mean, technically they could be very intrigued that we found it...Perhaps happy we were the ones who found it. It looks like they picked out a nice one...so who knows? " I asked with a smirk looking to the guys.
