Riley and I had gotten married, but something was amiss.  He was too gentle of a soul.  Riley would not survive in a fight between this world and Lord Voldemort.  I went to Lucius to see what he could do.  Malfoy Manor was it's usual pristine home.  He greeted me where Narcissa could not.  "Malfoy," I said to him curtly.  We had tried to stay away from each other, but he owed me.  I had gotten rid of a child for him so his lovely wife would not find out he cheated on her.  But I needed to see if Lucius in his good name would put in a word to get Riley into the Death Eaters.

I looked at Carrow - well, she was technically a Matthews now -- and ushered her into the parlor where she would not awaken my sleeping wife.  We would be the least intrusive in that room.  I turned after having closed the doors behind us and summed Genevieve Carrow up.  "Carrow," I said to her quietly, "what is it that you need from me at this hour?"

"I need your help," I said to him slowly, removing the gloves I had on my hands from the travel.  "There are many things that I was deceived about when it comes to my American husband."  I turned and looked at Lucius and stopped my pacing.  "You need to help me find a way to raise the Matthews name into something more... renown like Carrow or Malfoy are."

I stared at Carrow.  "And why would I do such a thing?" I questioned.  I would never risk the Malfoy name in helping a Mudblood name become something better htan what it was... which was dirt.  "You should have done some digging about the American's bloodlines before marrying the man."

I raised my eyebrows at Malfoy.  "Perhaps because I took care of the illegitimate child that would have ruined your chances with Black?" I suggested, shaking my head at him.  "If you do not think that deserves being paid back, then you are vastly mistaken, Malfoy.  You owe a debt, now it is time to pay it."  He was not going to pull the wool over my eyes.

I stared at Carrow, not surprised nor impressed.  "Fine," I said to her.  "And what exactly do you propose?  Making a name have as much class as Malfoy or Carrow... well, that would be near impossible." Of course I was not gion to put a lot of thought into this.  Not for a Mudblood.

I took a calming breath.  "You can put in a word to make him stand out in that crowd of yours," I said to him slowly.  "I know where your loyalties lie, Malfoy; I am a Carrow after all.  I think between your word and Amycus' that things could be set into motion.  But my brother's word alone is not good enough."

My eyes flashed at Genevieve.  "Of course your brother's word is not enough," I said to her.  "Your family does not have as high a standing as the Malfoys or the Blacks."  I took a deep breath; I knew that there were many things that we did for each other.  "And if I agree to this?"

I smiled at him, putting a hand on my stomach purposefully.  "Then your debt is paid," I said to him simply yet with darkness in my voice.  "And isn't that what you really want?"

Carrow did have a point; I hated owing debts.  I took a deep breath and sighed.  "Alright," I said tersely.  "I will do this for you.  We will be even and we shall never speak of either occurrences again."

I inclined my head at Malfoy.  "Of course," I said to him.  "We both know how to be discreet."  That was something we both learned rather early on -- especially when it came down to dealing with each other.

I sighed and thrust my hands deep into my pockets.  "You have no idea how difficult this is going to be," I said.  "But have no doubts, it will be done.  I believe I know a way that he can prove his worth with the likes of us... I am sure that you are aware of his discrepancies?"

I persed my lips. "Unfortunately," I said to him curtly. "But I have a feeling that you can help take care of that aspect as well? I will gladly accept this as us being even if that is the case." What I did for Malfoy was rather big and I was glad that he was realizing what had happened in the past.
