Princesses and Tiaras -- May 1987

I laughed at her adn nodded.  "I can easily do the dishes," I assured my little girl.  "But wouldy ou like me to help with baths, first?"

I looked at my daddy and smiled.  "of course I want your help, silly," I said.  Hhow could he think I did not want his help?

I laughed, shaking my head.  "How can I be so silly sometimes, missy?" I questioned grabbing a couple of the stuffed animals.  "Ready to get them to their baths?"

I grinned at him and nodded, standing up.  "They are definitely a handful," I stated, taking them over to my toybox that was the bathtub as of right now.

I helped Lyn pretend to wash the stuffed animals she had.  I looked at her.  "Well, I think it's time they go take their nap with the little princess, odn't you think?" I said to her, knowing it was her nap time.  This would be a great way to get her to take the nap, though.  If the stuffed animals had to do it, she would not want them to be lonely.

I looked at Dad and smiled innocently.  "I don't need a nap, though," I said to him.  I did not want to have to nap!  I hated naptime.

I looked at my daughter with raised eyebrows.  "Missy, your mates are going to nap and they want company," I said to her simply.  "Now come on... don't argue with me."

"I'm not arguing... I'm just telling you I don't want to nap," I said, crossing my arms and giving my dad the best big girl face I had.  I did nto need a nap.

It was extremely hard to keep a straight face, but somehow I managed to do so.  My daughter's big girl face was adorable.  "Madelyn, you do need a nap," I said to her.  "Your mates need some protection..."

I sighed and nodded.  "Okay, Daddy, if they need a protector than I guess I'll lay with them.  I'm not falling asleep though," I told him as I followed him to my bed while he carried my animals.

I smiled gently at my little girl.  "At least you'll be able to protect them, then, because you'll stay awake," I said to her, pulling back her covers.

"But not sleep," I added, wanting him to now that I was not goign to be napping.

"Of course not," I said to her, getting my daughter situated in her bed.  "Just protect them for a little bit and I'll come in and let you know when it's time for them to get up."  I kissed hte top of her head.  I knew that she would doze off after five or ten minutes.  She always did.
