Agony--1975 (open)

The first thing that Jerith noticed when he woke up after what seemed like days of sleep was that everything was so much clearer. His vision, his hearing, his sense of smell...all of it was much sharper.

The next thing that he became aware of was the fact that his skin didn't feel right--it was much harder and colder. He sat up, wondering where he was momentarily. A frown crossed his face when he suddenly realized that he was very thirsty. Shrugging casually, he stood up and made his way out of the dorm room and into the common room. It was then that he was overwhelmed with the urge for...blood? What was this all about? How in Merlin's name did he suddenly acquire such a disgusting taste?

A third-year girl walked past him. Her blood smelled so sweet...he wanted to drink...a hiss escaped his throat as he suddenly felt his mouth become overcrowded with teeth. Jerith leaped at the girl, but strong arms pulled him back.

"I don't think so!" Antonin exclaimed, putting the full body bind spell on Jerith before yanking the other Slytherin up by his lapel and dragging him back to the dormitory. "Are you out of your mind, McKennon? Do you want Dumbledore to hear about this? Of course, it might be too late, now...that girl got a very good look at you. The Ministry's going to be looking for you! Here." Antonin added, releasing Jerith from the spell and throwing him a blood-flavored lollipop. "Try this. It might quench your thirst a bit."
