I thought I loved her then -- May 1995

I had been out of Hogwarts for nearly a year now and Penny and I were happily in love.  I had problems with my own family, but I did not want her to have any problems with hers.  I took a deep breath and knocked on the door to her mum's house.  Her dad had passed away four years ago come this August, so I could not ask him, but I was sure going to try to uphold that tradition the best that I could.

I wiped my hands on a dish cloth as I was working on kneading dough for some bread and went to the door.  I opened it up and saw Penny's boyfriend.  I smiled at him. "Percy!  Come in, please," I said, moving aside so he could step into the foyer.  "What a pleasant surprise!  Would you like a spot of tea?"

"thank you," I said to her, following her towards the kitchen.  "I wanted to talk to you about Penny, actually..." I sat down and watched her as she put some biscuits on a plate along with the hot water (she merely tapped it with her wand) in front of me.

I raised my eyebrows at him with a coy smile on my face. "Talking about Penny? Is she driving you mental yet?" I teased, sitting down after pouring two mugs of tea for us.
