I laughed and shook my head. "Well, aren't you completely confident about that," I said, grinning. I could not stop smiling. I was rather pleased about everything. I could not wait to tell the girls that Max and I were finally going to date.

I rolled my eyes. "Like you think that is an excuse for anything?" I asked, not entirely joking. "I mean, you can just excuse yourself like that, Max. Just saying..." I smiled at him.

I looked over at Ellie. "Of course that's an excuse for me," I assured her. "I mean, I can't help my genetics or how I was raised or who I am or antyhing like that that goes along with being a Taylor."

I rolled my eyes. "Pfft, whatever," I said, knowing that I should have had a better comeback and mentally kicking myself for not having one. "I would have noticed it wihtout you having to tell me. I just might not have acknowledged that fact." I grinned at him.
