Disturbing News -- March 1979 (DONE)
I couldn't believe that I was being punished for something that had happened years ago. I had a daughter now... I couldn't do this. I couldn't deal with things like this. But I had to for Jada's sake. She was with Mrs. P at the moment and I went into this run down home where the letter told me to go. I had to go; there was no choice for me. I entered the house and saw Peter Pettigrew and a few other Slytherins who were a few years ahead of me. "What is this about?" I questioned, being careful to moniter my voice because I knew that the Slytherins at least were Death Eaters. And I was pretty sure what this was all about: I was about to pay for my father's sins yet again.
One of the Slytherins laughed. "All you have to do is to follow instructions and do as you're told," he answered in a steely voice. "The Dark Lord needs a ruse to disguise one of us as being a Death Eater -- which would be Pettigrew here. And who else would be perfect than someone who still owes a debt to the Dark Lord?"
I glared at him. "Murdering my father wasn't enough to pay for what he did? I have to now, too?" I asked icily, knowing that my tone would probably invoke something out of teh four men standing in front of me. But to my surprise, they all refrained from doing anything.
"Anyways... you are to house Pettigrew and act like you're in a nice relationship. The Dark Lord has plans for him, but no one can know where his loyalties lie. So you will have to keep quiet about all this. You tell anyone the real reason why you're with him, your daughter will pay for your indiscretions. You will become a Death Eater's wife in due time... meaning you will have to make sure that whenever anything may be held at your dwelling, that we're all taken care of in any way shape or form," he said, coming to me and caressing my cheek.
Jada was the only thing keeping me from doing something stupid at that moment. "We'll see about the anything aspect... but I don't exactly have a choice. So I'm leaving. Peter, if we're to do this... you better make it pretty convincing that there's a reason for us to get married so no one suspects anything odd." And with that, I turned and left.

I stood up and followed Monroe out of the house. "If you just do everything right, nothing will happen to your daughter," I said, catching up to her. I noticed that she was fighting back tears. I did feel sorry for doing this to her; but she was so close to Ember and I was so close to James... it was just perfect. No one would suspect a thing! The Dark Lord had plans... he wanted to recruit Lily adn James... event hough I told him that they'd never join, he still wanted them. He doesn't like being told what he can and cannot have. So I would be the one to help him achieve his goal of getting at least James. Monroe was just the perfect pawn to get things all into place to make it look even less conspicuous... especially if I convinced her to have true feelings for me. She would defend me to no end. Especially if her child's life depended on it.

I turned and faced him. "Yes, because that's so easy to do," I spat. "Threaten my daughter... of course I'll bend over backwards to protect her! You are filthy, evil, cruel, manipulative creatures. I can't even call you human... none of you. You already took one thing away from me... let alone my kid. I swear, if something happens to her -- it'll be your head. And then I will take you alld own one b one. Peter, I don't want you to follow me. Give me time. In a week, owl me. We'll set up a dinner... if we want this to work, it has to at least look real."

And so a weeks' time ahd passed before I saw Monroe again. We sat at a restuarant away from everybody else in case she started asking questions. "You look very nice tonight," I said, being serious. I didn't like thefact that this was being forced. She was a very beautiful girl, and so I did feel bad for taking away a life she could have with any other man.

Yes, I haddressed nicely. Why? Because this was my only me time since Jada. Dont' judge me. I know this was a sucky situation, but why not look decent if something wre to happen to me? "Thank you, Peter," I said. "Oh and if this is to be somewhat real, call me Tobi. Everyone does except for my mother."

"Why are you with them?" I asked up front. "They're horrible... they killed my father for protecting a muggle family. How can you be okay wth that? Especially with the fridns you have...." I thought of James and Sirius and Remus and how upset they'd be to find any of thsi out.

"You can't say a word, remember,' I threatened. I knew that she wouldn't, but I felt like I needed to remind her. "And it's because they're goign to change the world... and it'll be bette ron their side than the opposing side. Which you should find relieving to know that you'd be protected for being wiht me."

I rolled my eyes. "I'm well aware of our arrangment," I said, my words laced with anger. "And I don't know which side I'd rather be on... so don't put me on your side. I'm on my side; my daughter's side. and if that means I have to be with you, then fine. But if, in the end, it means I have to go up against You-Know-Who, then so be it. I will protect her with my life if I have to."

October looked lovely when she got fired up. "I see," I said, looking down. "Look, Tobi, the more willing you are to this, the easier it will be."

"Then let's do more to know each other," I said, sighing. He was right... if I didn't try to so hard to fight this, it wouldn't be so hard.

"Perfect," I said, smiling at her. "Tell me about your father." I figured that she loved him quite a bit for she mentioned his demise a few times... so maybe she would liek to remember him being alive.

And so we talked. It actually wasn't too bad... just the circumstances were horrible. So I was reluctant to share too much. I twas ridiculous. The meal finished and we left... I was dreading meeting him again,b ut also sort of looking forward to it again. the mixed feelings were horrible and I didn't know what to do with them.
