I laughed.  "Oh, that's wonderful," I said to her.  We walked to our next class.  "I wonder how this will be?" I added as we found seats.  This would definitely get rather interesting, I was sure about that.  Everything was so new to me.  It was really awesome.

I shrugged.  "It's Charms... it should be fun," I said to her.  I heard that Charms was relatively easy -- at least in first year.  It all depended on how things played out, though.

i smiled at Lyn, glad that she was helping me out.  "Charms... like... what/" I asked.  "Is it bad that I did not have much time to look through my books?  What's Charms?" I felt like a complete fool.  Was I supposed to read up on this stuff before class started?

I shook my head.  "I don't think you had to or anything," I said to her easily.  "I just know what the subjects are... I grew up in a Wizarding family."  I lowered my voice because I did not want anyone to say anything to her in case it was a big deal.  "You learn to levitate stuff... I think there's a a laughing charm or something like that?  Oh, and you can lock and unlock doors.  Those are the main ones I remember from home."

I relaxed a bit once I figured out that it was not necessary for me to have read the school books.  It did seem, however, that those coming from an already magical family would end up having a slight advantage.  I smiled at Lyn.  "Thanks," I said with my voice lowered.  "I would love to be able to lock my parents out of my room... they always just barge in..."

I grinned at Fiona.  "I know!  I mean... we're still kids, but that doesn't mean we don't want to be by ourselves!  We'll really hate it when we're teenagers," I agreed with her quietly as mor epeople started to pile into the room.

I laughed.  "I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't want their parents barging in on them," I said, rather pleased I seemed to have found a friend.

I shrugged.  "I don't think many people like their parents barging in," I said, chuckling.  "I just don't know exactly because, well, I wasn't very popular before..." I could aat least be somewhat honest.  Mom and Dad let me have friends, but I did not get close because of Dad's secret.

I looked at her.  "Oh, so you didn't really get to ask anyone before?" I questioned, unsure of what she meant.

I nodded.  "Exactly," I said to Fiona.  "But it's nice to know I'm not alone..."  At least I could be honest.

I sighed, feeling relieved as well.  "I definitely understand!" I said to her easily enough.

"Well... if I'm not being too forward... even if you weren't popular much before, at least you have one friend," I said, smiling nervously. I knew I could always use a friend that was for sure.
