Someone usually winds up getting hurt -- Late Summer 2016

I told Constantine that I wanted to talk to him.  There was no way I could not tell STan what I had seen.  We met at a park that was close to The Haven.  Stan was only thirteen, so I knew that Sedona would probably come.  His parents hated for him to go places by himself, though I did not blame them.  I saw them walk into the boundaries of hte park and I walked up to them.  "Hey Stan... Sedona," I said, debating on whether or not I wanted her to be involved in this conversation.  It was about her family, too.  But I would like to let Constantine decide.  "Why don't we come over here to talk, Stan," I said to my friend.

"Hey, Dorian," I said cordially.  "I'll go and read... behave."  I squeezed my brother's shoulder before I walked away from him.  I would keep an eye on them, but Dorian was good with Stan.  Surprisingly.  So I trusted him... enough.  I walked away and sat down, opening my book.

I grinned, shaking my head at Sedona.  "Ian... what's up?" I questioned.  I knew that it had to be important with the way his owl sounded.  I felt his hand on my shoulder as he steered me where he wanted me to go.  I felt a bench and sat down, feeling him sit next to me.

I sat and ran my hand through my hair.  I had let it slide when I thought it was just once... but then I realized Dad had just been better at hiding it.  It had been going on all summer.  It was time to get it into the open.  I was not too trilled about an affair.  "Stan, I have something major to tell you.  What you do with it is up to ou," I said.

I nodded, listening to him.  "What's going on, Ian?" I asked him.  He sounded worried.  I coul donly imagine what he needed to tell me.  Not much made Ian sound the way he did.  He stayed quietand I heard the leaves of the tree hear us russling in the light breeze and th esound of laughter from other kids at the park.

"I just want to apologize for not saying something sooner.  I thought it was just a one time thing, though.  They had been drunk or something... but I found out that it was going on all summer," I explained to my friend.  How could I say that his mum was having an affair with my dad?

I was really confused.  "Ian... it's fine.  What are you trying to say?" I asked him.  I wanted to know what was going on.  I did not want to pressure Ian into telling me what was on his mind.  Doing that would not help me with anything.  We were quite stubborn.

I sighed.  "Constantine, I saw my dad and your mum together.  Like an affair," I said quietly.  It was hard to tell what my friend was thinking.  His eyes were always emotionless -- due to his being blind, the only time they had emotions was when he was having a vision -- and his facial features were blank.  I almost was not sure if he understood what I said until he spoke up.

"So my mum cheated on my dad.  More than once... with your dad," I said, having to say it out loud to have it sink in.  I could not believe it.  I ran a hand through my hair.  I was not going to handle this.  What was I going to do?  I could not tell Dad... could I?

"Stan, are you okay?" I questioned, worried about him.  I knew that this had to be difficiult.  My parents were not together at the moment.  I could only imagine if this would ruin the marriage between his parents.

I nodded.  "I'm fine, Ian," I informed him.  I felt that familiar feeling of darkness hit me.  I never thought that I would feel that towards my own mother.  What was she doing?  This was kind of scary.

I saw a shadow flash across Constantine's face.  I was a little concerned.  He did not look fine.  "Mate, I'm sorry... what are you going to do?" I askedhim, wondering if he would tell his sister.  Stan's dad was pretty cool; I did not want him to hurt with what was going on.

To his question, I had no answer.  Thunder grumbled above us.  "I don't know... but I think I'm gonna go home.  I know Dona won't want to be in the rain," I said, standing.  I could feel in the air the weather was ready to rain.

"Probably a good idea," I agreed.  I stood and ledhim back to his sister.  I was always amazed that Stan could follow me by just barely brushing his arm or fingertips against me.  When we got over to Sedona, I smiled at her.  "We behaved," I said lightly.  "It looks and sounds like it's about to open pu.  Should probably head out to avoid getting wet."  I could be nice at times.

I smiled at Malfoy.  My brother seemed to be a little distant.  "Yeah, I have to agree.  See you around, Malfoy," I said before Stan and I walked away.  When we got home, I had to ask.  "Stan, you've been quiet the entire way home.  Is everything okay?" I asked him, concern fillnig my vocie.
